http://daforums.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=699744&forum=135&sp=0 UK Dragon Age buyers appears to be getting shafted in lots and lots of ways: 1. UK Collector's Edition doesn't come with a map or tin case, and it is only sold at Game. If you've preordered it, I'd really advise you to post on there about you being pretty pissed off and maybe cancelling your preorder. This is a disgusting, underhanded business move by EA to fuck over UK gamers. That is all. http://www.havenandhearth.com |

Originally posted by Dawnsinger EA Games has sucked ass for a long time now, this just further proves that point. Pushing out crappy games most of the time, and if they ARE in the least bit good, they milk you for every cent you're worth with DLC or some form of regional issue. This isn't the first game by EA that the UK has gotten shafted on in terms of what they're able to purchase. Unlikely that the UK will get some form of compensation so this is probably only going to add to the bad reputation EA is known for. Agreed, and it's just getting ridiculous. I thought EA was getting less incompetent as Activision got more so, but it seems that it was just that they SEEMED less incompetent. http://www.havenandhearth.com |

Seriously, the UK is getting shafted in yet another video game release. You always do, just stop complaining already... |

Originally posted by drgran Nope, we have a sucky Steam version, too. The best bet would be to preorder from a European company, but that'd cost about £20 more ( $30 ). http://www.havenandhearth.com |

how about ordering it from a American website and get it mailed to you? |

Originally posted by drgran That'd still cost tonnes more. I'll just wait awhile after release and buy it off ebay or Amazon for £10 then pirate the DLC. *shrugs* If EA is going to do something illegal and get away with it, so will I. http://www.havenandhearth.com |

I'm assuming you're being facetious... But yeah we always get shafted in the UK - it's called Rip-off Britain for a reason. However, if we sit back and never complain there is zero chance of any change...although even if we do it's probably a small chance. ;) Ningen wa, ningen da. |

Lmfao, because the UK getting shafted in the purchase of American-made games hasn't been happening since the 90's, right?
Oh, wait. It has. This thread is new and exciting. |

Stalin stands for why Communism sucked, EA stands for how capitalism sucks. At least Stalin wasn't so damn lame. |

Amazing how a few rings, a set of armour textures and the promise of DLC (removed from the main game and sold as an extra to make more money) get people to spend an extra £10-£15 more for a game. |

It's EA so what do you expect? They don't care about being fair or doing something for the customer. However, they also won't ignore any scheme to steal the spare change from your couch. I'm sure if enough people complain/email them about wanting it, there is a good chance they will make it available as dlc for a charge. They are probably just waiting for the opportunity to DLC it and claim they were only adding it because everyone wanted it, not because everyone got shafted in the first place. |

Yes they are selling it for the UK, but the UK version doesn't get:
Everything else the same. Except the UK people are spending a couple quid extra. I recommend emigrating from experience Dawnsinger, it does wonders.

So just put of curiosity, which version is everyone going for? Regular / Collector's...Digital / Physical..? I'm thinking about pre-ordering the the regular box since I still haven't entirely made up my mind whether the extra £10- £15 (depending where you look) is worth it. From GAME. (only because they're offering discount next-day delivery because of the postal strikes) |

Since my PC is dead at the moment, I can't check... But, I bought it from Steam, and it was some version that had more than the 'basic' version. Nice to see the anti-UK people couldn't resist posting. *sigh* Ningen wa, ningen da. |
