FE gets a 6.9 from a guy who can't run the game. (Get someone else to write the review on a modern system)

And its now the highest player rated MMO on the site.

Best games from my experience:
GW,EVE,WOW,WAR,AOC,COH,L2

Seeing the backlash posted about the review it seems mmorpg's credibility took a shot on the chin. Deservedly, the reviewers machine didn't have the minerals for FE.

I am not taking Joe Iuliani seriously though on his mmo reviews.

Joe Iuliani past reviews on prior mmo's have not been on check (at least in my book) for mmorpg

Once I saw his name as the reviewer, I chuckled.

Who cares? It's not like one persons opinion holds more weight than anyone else's. Just because someone gets paid to share their opinion or volunteers their opinion to be officially published by a fansite doesn't mean a thing... The unfortunate thing is that because a review is on a well read website, magazine or what ever many people assume that it is something more than it is... That having been said, it seems like the recent review of FE here is heavily biased by the fact that the reviewer had many technical issues that made playing the game frustrating for him.

2gb might be enough to run Vista but no way enough to run FE smoothly. He confused graphical lag with server lag. I play from Paris and i am sure my ping has to be lot worse then his. And i hardly get any lag. What a bull s*** review.

I am sticking to IGN 8.1, those guys know what they are doing.

I usually don't care what reviewers say about a game because my opinion usually differs from there however this review ticks me off because the guys comp couldn't even handle the game.  I just started playing 2 days ago and I am playing on an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200 2.2ghz with 2GB ram and an 8800GT video card.  This system is technically below the minimum specs yet I run the game on medium settings with full view distance and get 10-15FPS in town and 30+ out in the wilds...COMPLETELY playable.  I wonder what type of computer the reviewer used for it to give him as many problems as he states.

LOL and what about the Aion one................9.3
Yes Aion, a Korean grind fest with WoW features patched in it to appeal the western community (and failing) is the best MMORPG evah!!!!!

How about that?
Ridiculous is the first word that naturally springs to my mind...............pathetic is the second.

For me the truly sad part is the score he gave didn't match the review he wrote. The review he wrote was at worst a 7.4, 7.5 score review. Yet, his mind comes up with 6.9?

I scream and yell when I play a game, just have to remember to take my heart pills first..

10/22/09 5:37:18 PM#13

Wild that they saying release date..etc...Aion only been out like 2months, it is like a year old or more if I remember right. Someone was telling me that release was really smooth...I nearly snorted my tequila laughing at a year old release being smooth...man I would hope so =).

You know you are old when the dev's on the games you play are almost young enough to be your grand-kids.

Exactly.......Aion has been released 1 year ago in Korea.
FE has been released few weeks ago........that's it.

But honetly I loled more to the 9.3 given to Aion then the 6.9 given to FE.
A 7 is a good score....................9.3 on the other hand..........just LOL

True, but 323 (and counting) user ratings do.

I think they should have multiple people reveiw the game and have each give a composite score. I don't care about the actual number, but it would be nice to have more than one of their staff review a game before calling the review done.

Aion made me lol in real life. My friend just bought it and I popped over by his house when he was on vent and just finished installing it. He kept asking questions about the hotkeys, and when I told him which ones to press to get to things he was astonished and asked me how I knew. I said, "Didn't I tell you I played a few of those F2P Korean grinders? This looks like it handles the same way."

Head on over to this thread and sound off! Hopefully we can get it so that we do have multiple reviewers per game to give a more broad perspective.
