For the past few days DF was number 2 with about 19k hits/day right behind Aion, but it seems today it's number 1.

I would of thought 1 month after Aion launch, Fallen Earth and Champions they would have the top spots, but coming up almost 1 year after launch DF still has everyone's panties in a bunch?

Is Tasos hacking the website or are we that popular 4 real?

nah darkfall is just as bad as it always was. Trolls are just making more posts in these forums which has a snowballing affect with other trolls/fanboys and here we are.

Ah, yep your right.  It's #1 on "forum/unique hits".  I was assuming he was talking about the "voted popular" games list.  My error.

DF has been a hot topic on these forums for years, and the furor hasn't really abated much.

IMO because it's different.

It is so against the flow the genre has been heading the past 8 years or so, it interests people - lovers and haters alike.

This is true. Most of us have played and liked wow for years, but after a while we want to taste something new. Kinda like when you have had the same girlfriend for years. You are like the fairytale princess who wonder if the frog will be a prince if she kisses it. Well I kissed the frog and it was a prince. A prince with a lot of flaws, but a prince nevertheless.

Darkfall is so popular because it promises a game that many players want to enjoy.  That doesn't mean Darkfall in it's current state is that game.  But us gamers who want a true Sandbox game are hopeful Darkfall will one day be that game that was promised to us so long ago.

Sgtfrog is right, Darkfall might not be a blockbusters, but the game is quite original and the fanbase is very passionate and loyal.

If you don't want to consider the official rating ranking, you can't deny their forum are pretty active.
Darkfall is one of those games which will grow with time like EvE, rather than disintegrate after 2 months like AoC, WAR and Aion.

I left Darkfall 2 months ago, for lack of time, but I am planning to return after the next expansion in November.
The game is unique, it ain't for everyone, but everyone should give it a try, who knows you might like it.

A lot of new changes are coming to DF in a couple weeks or so. I've been playing for less than a month, but I've seen a lot of talk from people who had unsubbed but who are looking to come back after the expansion. Maybe that's it.

And of course the EU-1 to NA-1 transfers are coming up soon as well.

Its simple, there are updates coming to the game so old players are coming to see whats going on.

With 19k hits a day and around half that number of players, people that was interested in the game found more entertainment on the forums that on the game. That other games deliver enough entertaiment to their players, so they dont need to hang around the forums looking for some

And where did you pulled your lovely numbers from?
Let me guess.......................

Darkfall servers have the same capacity as EvE (around 100K), they are called "cloud" servers which means that many servers act as one, and DF has 2 of them.
Not saying that Darkfall has 200K, but just because it has only 2 servers doesn't mean that it has 10K players............they are not like WoW or Aion servers.

Hell yeaaa, Darkfall is number one, ahaha. But its probable because of the X-pack and what not, but yea darkfall is a great game its just for a special crowd of gamers, like for the ones that dont like to quest or lvl, just want to have fun and a adrenaline rush (Me XD)

Hey Sgt, you have to change your sig again your the 2 star frog now.

darkfall dont have publicity service like most game, so its good that we can atleast make ppl know about darkfall when they click on mmorpg.com and let them know that the game is still alive and that it will never die. Its a sign that darkfall can still grow and get the EVE subs number once DF will be complete at 100%

could it be because Tasos/Adventurine is hacking mmorpg boards, or there are some people left that are still interested in this POS?
Anyway I thought that Dogfaughrt was dead…
