I pretty much quit Aion for a MMORPG thats like 15 years old, but I find it more fun than Aion has ever been for me. Anyway it seems my prediction was right in the fact that less than half the people playing their free month would actually stay once billing came around. |

I just checked the server list at 8:15 cst time. All the east coast servers are full except the new one they released to help with ques. The west coast server have zero that are full at this time but it's only 6:15pm pst and will check again in a hour or so. |

Ofc every server is full. I wonder how some of this ppl still come here to say such idiocys when its so easy to prove their trolling. Guess what guys, you are gonna have to "swallow" Aion's success, nothing you can say will change that |

Just a follow up. At 9:15 cst 9 of the 15 servers are full and if the pattern holds up in another hour 12 of the 15 servers will be full minus the three new servers they put up to help with the ques. I guess the sky is not falling. :) (This is the USA servers) |

A lot of players will quit in any MMO when the month is out. Any MMO will lose some subs then, usually at least 25%. That is only natural, the question is if it will continue to get new players instead of the ones that just played the game for a month. |

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with others in saying this game won't have a good retention rate. I think we seen the peak of its population and its only going to keep falling. |

Ello there gentelmen, its been awhile. Did i hear someone say empty servers ?
Ofcourse not...
My apologies.
Improve Aion's Graphics with a simple text file that you can create by yourself: -Increase in-game Field of View to 175% or more -Increase view distance for players to 100 meters with camera at max distance -Lots of other settings Learn how by reading this guide at Aionsource http://www.aionsource.com/forum/general-guides/84379-definite-guide-aions-graphical-settings-performance-tips.html |

Well, that just means a lot of people purchased the game when it came out. We'll see what the retention rate is. My guess is that the game will have about 250k to 300k players. About the same amount as any good mmo exclusing wow which is an anomaly in the mmo space. |

there is a quest chain without grinding that gets you through the levels, you just have to travel. Just because i said it isn't much of a grind at the moment doesn't mean i'm some TC thinking i'm all good, but i guess that gives you enough credit to act like one yourself. |

The most ammusing thing about this thread is how many of you folks that claim to hate Aion are spending your time on the Aion forum... well, just logged out and heading to bed now... ohh wait... maybe that means Aion is failing because there are less folks on the server after midnight now... ohhh noooooooo what willl ncsoft do now.... aaaarrrggghhhh!!!!! wait a minute, maybe all will be ok when we all wake up and get home from work and log on again and the servers shoot back up to full again. Well, I am glad that how much money NCSoft makes off the game will determine its success and not how much the FEW detractors complain. night... www.90and9.net |

I guess its rather flattering that so many people are taking the time to post as it shows their insecurity in that very fact. Even this very distinguished site rated Aion as the best game ever released :))) So what would a couple of forum trolls know? Populations are still full and everyone is having a blast in the best Open world PvP game on the market.

Maybe you should more precisely talk about NA players, because in EU it doesn't matter that much if the game is from Korea or Mars as long as it's working and entertaining. |

This was taken today at 9PM EST, I'll bet the [West] servers would look similar a couple hours later. I'm not even really enjoying the game right now, kinda hit the big grind wall in the late 30s. But I'm not going to flame the game and spread misinformation. Playing - LotRO, SWToR |

In before this thread is closed. Lets see how can i contribute... umm... OH! Even if the server says "FULL" it is only that way due to bot accounts that NCsoft is probably internally running for extra profit. |

If lineage 2 wasn't a bot fest I would still be playing. But grinding takes time and effort, effort which is null and voided by bots who can do it years faster and be far better geared to boot. The pvp that makes up L2 is controlled primarily by botters. Not to say there is a couple still legit that have been playing from the beginning but a big majority(not even an exageration) of 80+ are or have botted.
As for Aion I quit after a few beta cycles. I just didn't feel like logging in. I cancelled my pre-order on just being bored to death in it. One game that I found to play very well but was also ruined by cash shop, bots and farmers would be Requiem online. Everything had a kind of "impact" |

Doubtful. Europeans rarely have this "we" and "them" mentality (atleast not on the internet). That is because Europe consists of so many different countries and nationalities. And it is not about having an american equal, it is rather the notion that somehow "we" would be very different from koreans. They have a highly developed and civilized (and also west influenced) society and I dont see how "they" are much different from us. Certainly not from Europeans but for americans, I dont know. Regardless, Aion has been released all over the world and not just US and Korea. |

Originally posted by junzo316 But that is pretty normal these days. Apart from Eve very few MMORPGs have retained the subscribers that they had during the first month. AoC, WAR and now Champions Online lost a massive number of subscribers after the first month (judging from XFire for CO but for actual subscriber numbers from AoC and WAR which had over 700k copies sold but then dwindled down to less than 300k). The answer is simple. The games have nothing new and innovative so after the first honeymoon month people realise it is the same old stuff they have seen in other MMORPGs and get tired of it and moves on. I really haven't seen anything spectacular and innovative in Aion so it will follow the same pattern as the other games. Mind you a game can still be succesful even though it shows a steep decline, WAR has reportedly 250k subscribers now, and that is in no way a failure, it is just not a success that they expected. But really, how can you copy so much from WoW and then excepct a huge success? WoW is WoW and no copycat will topple it so devs better get their shit together and start being innovative. |
