As you all know i just hit level 45 2 days ago, I love the game except the grind. I was hardcore enough to hit level 75 in lineage 2.

So grinding is nothing new to me..... To me the major flaw in Aion... IN ALL OF AION.

is the hardest core grind you WILL EVER SEE. the level 40-45 THis is HELL LEVELS FOLKS in everquest term. This is considered the harshest gap and nightmare levels you will have ever seen. This is the gap levels that you will have very little exp and no instances to run and the mobs barely will give 2000 exp.....the best mob in your level range gives that much.

If you have the will to grind form level 40- level 41 , trust me By the time you hit levle 45 you will be a shadow of your former self, or even worse your sanity will explode in millions of fragments in front of your desktop.

I repeat level 40-45 is hell levells and not for the faint of heart. Youd wish that someone would put you out of your misery in the early level 40's.  If your still in early 25's and think the game is fun, yes its fun UNTIL you hit the wall at level 40. Then its hellish levle grind you'll ever see since lineage 2 or final fantasy xi grind to level 75 type grind.

BUT GOOD NEWS GUYS, when you hit level 45 i think its a little easier to grind......Until then folks, GOOD LUCK i would be suprised if anyone of you managed to grind through hell nightmarish level of 40-45 and not go insane.

i suggest that ncsoft needs to fix this hellish levels in aion, thats the only complaint i got.. If you dont have the will you wont make it past 40 id be darn suprised if you made it to level 42 without hitting your head in the wall.

The level cap is 50, if you didn't notice (I'm hoping at this point that you're actually playing the game). Are you still playing on chinese servers?

From the way you compare Lineage 2 and Aion, I very much doubt you've ever played Lineage 2, let alone levelled an avatar to 75.

No, im playing the us aion  im taking some time off this week university exams this week for me ive cut my playtime by 80%.

But what i said about level 40-45 is true.

I woudl be suprised if people doesnt go insane at level 41 or 42, let alone level 45.

Aion needs the exp bonuses patch soon, or i fear the worst.

I WOULD NOT REROLL AND DO LEVEL 40-45 AGAIN thagts how bad the levels are, its just soo insane. I dont know what Ncsoft was thinking. Lucky for me i had the willpower to grind through those levels, but for others i dont think so there will be small amount of players that will manage to grind to 41, 42, or even 45. If the grind didnt kill them halfway through those levels.

If you get to level 42, level 43, 44 and quit i would understand its harsh, and unforgiven. If people cancel to the grind then this would be the reason as level 40+ is just so damn harsh.

It took a full group to gain 1% in 8hrs killing elites in Lineage 2. That's 800hrs per level roughly, assuming you don't die and lose 4% per death.

Aion in comparison was calculated to 15-25days max played roughly for the journey 1-50. That's 600hrs for the full journey.

There is really no comparison.

Edit: For me levelling is not a real issue. The problem is with the gathering and tradeskills, but that's probably because I don't generally enjoy that aspect of the game that much.

Yes I sympathize those who managed to get to upper 40's and quit. I completely understand them now that ive gone through it myself.

If there is a reason to quit it would be the hell levels 40-45.

Furor, how much time did it take you 40-45? In hours.

Better to be crazy, provided you know what sane is...

He is telling the truth tho. I have seen other people confirming the grind hell that is lvl40 to lvl45.

That's I think one of the main reasons NCSoft is boosting the quest XP like crazy in that level range with the coming patch.

I can imagine the grind seemed extreme to the OP yeah, after doing nothing but grinding from level 1 to 40, and then grinding from level 40 to 45...sheesh. You did know there was other content you could do besides grinding on mobs right?? Unless your a templar of course, then you have to solo grind or spend millions of kinah on your soul heals after your pugs let you die over and over and over and oh yeah, over again.

I am 40 now and I still have quests from 20 and 30 that I never get a chance to finish so where is the grinding from??  Everywhere I go there are blue arrows in every NPC,  I have not even hit all the instances yet.  So, Aion should just give everyone a lvl 50 toon when they create the account??

You know how much XP you need from level41 to level42 right? Go check that first.

Then start picking up those quests and shock yourself to find out how ridiculous little XP they give, compaired to the amount of time you need to spend on finishing it.

People already said, that the quest XP past level30 is such a joke, that one single Elite mob already gives more XP then most of the quests in that levelrange.

I have a question.  As a ranger i can grind on mobs +5 to me with little problem if I find the right ones.  Will 40-45 be less hell if I do this?

Because I know what OP is saying is true.  I am in a large legion with many ppl 38-46 (more than 20 ppl), and every single one of them is saying the same thing.

Geez, and I thought 10-19 on my Ranger was rough.  My highest toon is only 26 but I just hit my 3rd level 20 toon. :P  It's gonna be interesting to see what they do about higher level leveling.  Just about anybody I talk to says it's pretty grueling.

So hows the PvP?

I really don't believe this tool even plays Aion, much less ever played Lineage 2. To say Aion is the " BIGGEST GRIND EVER" is simply retarded. Aion is nowhere near the biggest grind out there. Just the fact that it was possible for people to get level 50 in 2 weeks, I don't care if they played 24 hours a day, means the "grind" in this game to max level is not bad at all.

If you don't like the game, quit. If you think it has a large grind, go back and play WoW or whatever EZmode game you started in this genre on. That's the beauty of MMOs, if you don't like one theres always another to play. It doesn't mean that Aion has to change to be successful or that its a "flaw" to take more than 24 hours to gain max level. It's just a different type of game, so go find a new one if you don't like it, don't try to change the game that many of us love.

The crap you have been spewing on the forum lately Furor really makes me doubt you even play, and if you do you just sit in the corner grinding mobs like a retard. Of course if you do one repetitive task over and over in a game you'll get bored, thats like grinding boars in WoW. There are so many other things to do in the game.

Liar liar pants on fire.

If you do repeat quests you won't get much EXP, but the quest rewards are fine from 30+

I haven't hit 50 yet so I can't say it will stay this way, but to say that the quest EXP past 30 is a joke obviously never played an MMO.

What I believe is the biggest problem with the game is that it isn't linear at the later levels. They don't say "go here for all your new quests". If you actually explore a bit your quest log will always be full.

People hate it when a game holds their hand, but complain when they have no direction.

I can understand why someone might complain about the grind, but not when they turn around and say they got to level 75 in Lineage 2?  Guess OP botted or something because L2 was a horror, especially past 50 and like some folks said, it could take 8 hours in a good group to gain 1%.

Just those two highlighted sentences just goes to show he know does not know what grind is. Hell L2 is more of a grind than Aion is. Oh and saying there is no instances at 40+ is also a lie there are at least four instances.

You meant those repeatable 100 times quest that give you 8000 exp sending you to kill 20 of this, 30 of that or those petty run around quests that have you run from this end of the world to the other and give you 12000 exp when you need several millions exp to level? Yeah, tons of those.

So many quests are just so poorly design and petty reward that I wonder why make those quests in the first place, why just replace the whole meaningless text that tell you to go kill 30 of this type of mob and repeat that 100 times with 1 sentence "Go grind you dumb ass!"

Quests were supposed to soften the grind and hid it right? Most quests in AION don't even bother to do that except some in the campaign chain.

We have a winner right here!

And also - for the record... I doubt Furor played L2 OR Aion... based on his comments - at least to the levels he indicated. The people who reply with "he's telling the truth" makes me rofl even more....

Obvious troll is obvious.... what I don't get is... why are you people still here complaining about a game you so-called "hate"?
