Says it all right here, crafting is going to be just some side thing people do, the game will cater to epic loot drops and Tier sets.

Greatest threat to society is letting casualties of puberty reproduce.

Maybe quest and group drops. Lets hope crafting is not useless. I can live without the raids lets leave that group with WoW. Not sure which group I find more distasteful hardcore raiders or druggies.

Read the article twice, never saw them say that raiding and teir sets were the endstate. I did read the part about no crafting classes, but then I read the part about different idea on how to do crafting but not being able to talk about it.

They also said they would burn down the homes of anyone who didn't like heroic story (see, I can take a fact like them having heroic story, and then bolt on some massive over-exaggeration as well).

LOL now now you know in your heart of hearts you want a wow clone, not a Star Wars game.

Maybe they will just Xfer the dungeons over to Tor, Maybe Argent Tournament Swoop bike dueling, with TOC 10 man heroics, but with a 50 foot Darth Malek Boss. Marks of the force?

The fact that Bioware hasn't given an interview to countermand what's in the article isn't exactly a "win".

Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

I'm glad you have arrived to help spread the panic, the regular trolls were starting to get tired and need a well deserved rest. I wonder why you would object to TOR following WoW's lead, judging by your post history, you could be called something of a WoW fanboi.

Any chance you could at least wait until they have announced a time for beta testing before attacking the game? Once people have actually laid hands upon some form of the game, I'm sure there will be enough hate to go around.

Alright, so from what I read here, the only thing that even mentions raiding or loot is very near the end of page two.

Crafting:

"You know, crafting at its heart is not really what the universe is about. But one of the designers came up with a great idea, which I can't talk about because it's not implemented yet, of how to incorporate crafting into Star Wars without forcing a hero to do something that's very non-heroic."

Can you not agree with that? What it sounds to me is like innovation.

Raiding:

Nothing about raiding is mention in here, no tier sets, no epic loot drops have even been MENTIONED yet.

"Yeah, our game is about loot. There are things in our game that as you progress you definitely can tell a new player from a high-level player."

This is talking about loot in progression, nothing even about end-game, it's saying "hey, my level 1 won't look as cool as your level 50, because I have different loot."

ONCE AGAIN... RUMOR!!!!!!. For gods sakes, until you hear things directly from the company, its nothing more than rumor, and not worth taking as anything other than someones opinion. If you can't PROVE IT USING THE OFFICIAL COMPANY, then don't post it for a change. If you do, its nothing more than trying to upset people since OPINION does NOT equal TRUTH.

Tbh, I like it that way. I never was interested in crafting. I dunno, its like work, lol. I just wanna be a Hero. Or Villain, as the case may be, not a shoemaker or tailor! XD

But one quote unsettles me again:

"One of the things that will be different about our game, from other MMOs, is the amount of replayability in the game. When you play like a Jedi from 1 to max, and then decide to start as a Sith, you won't see any content that will be the same. It's almost like playing a completely different game. That's going to be a big appeal to try those other classes.

Plus, since you're adventuring with your buddies that are playing other classes, they'll be telling you some of the exciting stuff they're doing. You're going to get tidbits that might really get you interested in playing one of those other classes. It's probably going to make you excited to try things out."

How the HECK is that going to work as a MMORPG???

Not sure what part you're referring to, the first part basically says if you play Classes on the Sith Empire and decide to level a class on the Republic you will have a completely different experience.

The second part is referring to class stories, and I'll bet, more so referring to the starting areas. If the bounty hunter got to chase down a mark through the streets of Hutta and it ended in a crazy shoot out, your Sith Warrior buddy might look forward to playing a Bounty Hunter to experience parts like this.

Atleast, that's what I got from it.

"If you want to spend a lot of time in the game being great at crafting—we haven’t talked about the specifics yet, but we’re going to have an entire system like you would expect—you’ll be able to play the game of crafting, harvesting, selling things on the auction house, do that type of gameplay, as well."

What about the tradition of Jedi crafting their own lightsabers?

Rich: With the way that MMOs work, gaining and upgrading loot over levels, you're not going to end the game with the same lightsaber you started with. That might mean a succession of different lightsabers ...

James Olen, Studio Creative Director: Yeah, our game is about loot. There are things in our game that as you progress you definitely can tell a new player from a high-level player.

Rich: There's also other roles you can play within an MMO social group. There are things we've been discussing about how we can make guilds feel more like they fit within the Star Wars universe, that's pretty special.

That sounds more like you can get a nice loot drop and use your crafting skills to upgrade it. Woo Hoo It's the WOW crafting system all over again, Great. It also means lightsabers wont be customized but rather looted off of raid Wookies or whatever absurd critter they can explain away. So if the game is about loot drops, upgrading loot and making guilds happy, then I get a raid progression feel from the game. If thats what it will be they need to come out and say it, this bs about it being a game for everyone is crap and we all know it. It will target one audience and I for one don't want it sugarcoated.

You know, in KoTOR, you upgraded your saber but would basically find new and better sabers? I don't really see krayt dragon pearls coming from crafting. So how exactly is this WoW all over again? If any weapon upgrade was going to be crafted It would probably be for ranged/vibro weapons. As for the raid, they might actually make raiding enjoyable if they do some of the things they listed in the past.
