Do you ever get the feeling youre being watched...

MMOers, we live in a world that has halls, and those halls have to be farmed by men with swords. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Stone Guard Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom.... You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That the servers economic death, while tragic, probably saved gamers time in their real lives. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves time. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at raids , you want me in those halls, you need me in those halls.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very economic freedom that I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and farm some gold. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Would you argue that you and your Farmers are 'a few good men'?

Not me of course lol... Just trying to give the farmers some props... I have said this before in other threads buying gold in mmos is like masturbation. 90% of the population does it, about 5% actually admit to it. =) Or they give the classic political answer... "Ive only done it once, a very long time ago"...

Maybe we as players have a responsibility to these games to see to it that the men and women charged with their farming are trained professionals.

Yes, I'm certain I remember reading that somewhere, once. And now I'm thinking, Zarynterk, that your suggestion of selling gold, while expeditious and certainly painless, might not be, in a matter of speaking, the American way. The gold stays where it is. We're gonna farm the mobs!

I fail to see a legitimate reason for Gold Farmers / Sellers.

Gold Farmers / Sellers place items on the AH for ludicrous prices. Then the players are forced (FORCED) to spend their hard-earned cash just to get that new piece of armor that sells at the vendor for a fraction of the cost the Gold Farmers / Sellers are charging.

Gold Farmers / Sellers ruin games. Period. End of story.

Dont get me started on the American way... If we look at how this country was founded and upon whos back it was built... Gold Farming is 100% American...historically speaking, of course not the romanticized way we would like it to be.

What can I say? I can't blame them for taking advantage of a virtual system that is virtually untraceable to taxes/government etc. However I can't stand them, scum of all MMOs they are the pure reason why MMO economies go to shit cause too many bastards such as yourself buy ingame money from them and then their is a surplus that wouldn't normally be in the game which ends up lower prices substantially and to those playing legitimately get screwed.

I think your figures are way off, no way 90% of MMO players buy gold, I'd say more than half but it sure hell isn't 90%. So ya big fuckin thank you gold sellers for fuckin up my MMOs.

You mean the difference b/w bots and humans, well one is a computer program which is capable of farming gold 24/7 without fail and therefore it can get more gold than non bots and mess up the ingame economy. Kinda like how the value of a dollar works, the more dollars that are out there the less value yours has, thats why counterfeit is illegal.

It is 100% Capitalism at its best, plain and simple and companies do it every day. Why is it that American companies fail everytime they attempt to run a gold farming site... cost of labor. Just like fortune 500 companies that send jobs overseas for cheaper labor.

Correct, the Spanish and Portugese basically started the slave trade in America, not the evil white man as some may think. But again it proves the point that gold farming is much like any other industry to the dawn of time. As long as there is a market, it will survive.

And this is a legitimate reason to destroy the games we love to play?

This is a legitimate reason to invite spammers into our games?

As gamers, we have a choice. If our game is flooded with gold spammers, and the economy is so terribly destroyed as a result of gold farmers inflation, are we going to continue playing that game?

Gold Farmers / Sellers are turning our Monthly-Sub games into Monthly-Sub+Micro-Transaction games.

Well, I understand your feelings... I do. Which brings us to the million dollar question. Why dont MMO companies ban all IPs from the orient on American servers, or simply not allow any payment type to be received from Asia. There are remedies available, those companies due to greed refuse to take them. Blame the companies that reap huge membership dues from the very farmers they "attempt" to ban.

Although if China continues to crack down on RMT and MMORPGs in general, its likely to either migrate elsewhere or get much more expensive.

Lol where is your outrage for all the out-sourcing companies then. For the ten year olds making Nikes. Of I forgot...it doesnt effect your virtual world, only the real one.

Well I dont wear nike so im not supporting them am I, but yeah it sucks and the only people who can stop it are the companies that out source or the foreign governments to stop taking in outsourced jobs at such a reduced amount, but that of course wont happen because their governement/foreign bussiness care more about the profit than they do their labor forces.

so basically the workers should all VIVA LA REVOLUTION and demand more wages.

This is so sad.  These days it seems people do not play games for having fun. The world is full of big time losers.

Sudden influx of any product, without an equivalent increase in demand for that product, will result in devaluation of such product. Meaning, if gold farmers suddenly start pumping up gold into the economy, that gold will be devalued quickly. That in turn will drastically raise prices, making low level players broke and unable to purchase ordinary commodities.

So yes, gold farming does actually hurt the economy and people. Burn in hell, gold farmers/hackers/scammers/crackers/leet speakers/elitists.

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
