I'm no higher up, but I would just give you the same advice I would of any MMO player. Take a day break, then get back on while blasting your favorite pandora station. Or if you aren't having any fun at all on a Chanter, try rolling a different class that you think you would enjoy more. Don't be afraid to "be like everyone else" by picking a class you think everyone else will be playing. You don't search for a career on the base of "what are there the least of? I want to be original". You choose a career based on what you think will be the most fun to do while earning your living for the rest of your life. Or you could re roll while blasting music. Either works.

I am not sure if you are asking a Chanter-specific question ("Should I keep playing my Chanter or re-roll?") or a general question ("Should I quit the game?"), but I can give you my advice.

I started with a Spiritmaster in the game and loved every second of it. It is, and probably always will be, my main character. However, lately I've been duo'ing and trio'ing with a bunch of friends so I decided to make a character that would only be leveled with them - this was my Chanter. The class was really fun in the beginning levels, but once I hit level 20, it started getting really boring. I know that every class does not get their main abilities until later in the game, but the Chanter role in groups is not very appealing to me (buffs, mediocre DPS, mediocre healing... really the only hybrid class of Aion). Solo'ing is another thing: Chanters are probably the easiest to solo with, at least in the early game. I had zero downtime, zero potion usage, and zero treatment usage throughout the early levels when I was catching up to my friends. They really could grind for days on end, if need be.

So, I suggest trying a different class, if the chanter is boring to you. However, if the game is boring to you, the only thing I can suggest is get to level 25, find a good legion and/or group of friends, and go have some fun in the Abyss. IMO, Aion becomes a great game past level 25. Pre-25 is just training :).

I too got bored with my first character when I hit 22. I played a Sorcerer in CB and OB so of course I started off in EA with a Sorcerer. But I just really stopped enjoying it just shy of lvl 23. So I rerolled as the 2nd hybrid class (Chanter the only hybrid pffft =P ) in the game, a Gladiator. My Gladiator is currently lvl 33 and I enjoy every minute of it.

So, do you enjoy your gladiater alot more than your chanter?

I have not played a Chanter, my first character was a Sorcerer, but I do plan on rolling one next.

The main point of my post is, if you aren't happy with your current character, try something else. Think about what it is that you don't like about your current class and try something that doesn't have that. For me and my Sorcerer it was squishiness and playing at range all the time with the mobs never getting close was getting boring. So I picked the exact opposite.

I'm almost level 37 on my chanter and i'm still having fun. Buh thats just me. The meat of the game for me comes after I hit level 40.

I made it to level 35...then the grind kicked in and felt like a 350lb linebacker was chop blocking me at the knees.

I really liked the idea of the game, but to much of a grind for me these days.

The game has a bit of a grind to it.  My suggestion is to find a class you like playing a lot and get some friends to enjoy the road to 50 because it can be a long one.

Yeah I took a Cleric to 22 and got really bored so I rerolled an Assassin and am having a blast. So I would suggest to try a few of the classes out to see if you can find one you enjoy more.

Chanters are a priest sub-type class, you shouldnt expect them to deal a great dps, but ofc, your job will also be a support one, buffing and dps'ing a bit and in extreme situations help healing.

I dont need to tell you that generally priestly classes can be slower a bit boring to level, but i can also tell you that chanter becomes alot more fun from 22 and above.

I recommend you to take it until at least 25 and judge there. If you really dont like it try another class.

If you like group-content and crafting.. I wouldn't expect too much from Aion.. if you what you are after is PvP, and most notably Mass PvP, then I would continue playing..

Wow 70 - 80 4 boxing was a little bit of a grind.

Lineage 2 that was a hardcore grind.

Aion, is somewhere between the two, and  it will be turning a lot of folks off. Aion is a damn good game for those who can stomach the grind... but its definitely needs to be corrected and quickly, or, its gonna be dropping subs

Curious statement, at least until now i found more group Content and more reasons to craft (excellent recipes) than in my last 2 years of WoW (as an example)

Its badass for those who enjoy grinding the same content for hundreds of hours, for the new piece of gear. There is no exploring, little mystery, and after the first run, no real excitement.

Wow is the Six Flags of MMO's, please pay the fee, ride the rides, and move on.

Try playing a pure DPS class... the survivability of a Chanter will make them feel like a happy dream. Sure, it takes you longer to kill one enemy, but the reduced downtime is amazing.

First of all, yes there is group-content, and I enjoy some of it, but there isn't a whole lot and PvE is really lacking in this game. Also, when I say crafting, I do not mean just useful crafting. Of course, I want crafting to be useful, but I want it to be fun as well. It is not fun, at all. What's different between Aion and WoW Crafting? WoW crafting sucks while leveling, and Aion is good, but it's still watching bars, and that is just too boring.
