After two weeks of reading about FE and watching videos of the game I finally decided to go ahead and buy the game. However, I do have some questions I need answered before I make the jump.

I'm from The Netherlands (Europe) and there aren't any stores around that carry the game, so my only option is to buy it from the website (the digital version, without a box). The problem here is: I only have a few payment options at my disposal. I don't have a creditcard. I do however have a ClickandBuy account which just takes the money from my bank account. I also have iDeal which let's me pay directly from my bank account.

I did some looking around and I found the ClickandBuy logo so I can purchase the game, but it said I needed a valid creditcard to register. Which I don't have. I had the same problem with WoW when I started, but I just purchased a gamecard which solved the problem. I got my account activated that way and could set up a subscription using my bank account. Now.. I don't want to waste any money buying the game, but not being able to register. So I'm asking you for confirmation, suggestions, help on this.

I'm sure there must be people around who don't have a creditcard like me, what did you guys do? I'm trying to play it save here so please help me out. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to joining the FE community!

Do you have Visa Electron? I use that mainly because I don't want a REAL credit card, it would only get me in trouble since I suck at taking care of my bank balance. :D But Visa Electron still acts like plain Visa card, (Not all bank's Visa Electron work like this, so you have to verify it from your bank. And I think there isn't even any requirements for Visa Electron - like normal credit cards require a steady income or a job.) so you can pay all your online purchases as long as you have some money on you account.

I'm sorry to say that I don't have a Visa Electron. The only means at my dispossal are ClickandBuy and iDeal. Is all hope lost for me? You can not possible mean that EVERYONE playing at the moment has a creditcard (or a substitute one)??? I really want to play this game, but I'm losing hope by the minute :(

store.steampowered.com/app/40000/

They support clickandBuy and Paypal

www.paypal.nl/nl

Create a PayPal account, link it to your bank account and your done, PayPal is, if not the best worldwide money booking method avalible.

''What forms of payment will be accepted?

FALLEN EARTH, LLC will accept all major credit cards and PayPal. Other retail outlets will determine the acceptable forms of payment for their sales.''

PayPal is your only chance to even subscribe.

@Edit : Fallen Earth also does not have any EU servers, that means you must play on a NA server, and hence you might even lag

Well, salvation is here!

Install STEAM. You can use Click and buy through that. I just added Fallen Earth into my shopping cart and it shows Click and Buy as a payment method... And PayPal, JCB, AMEX, Discover, Visa and Mastercard.

Edit, damn smellysocks beat me. :) Hope you get it working man!

Thanks for the suggestions people! I really appreciate it, but purchasing the game ITSELF is not the problem. It's setting up a subscription. It says you need a valid CC for that. I'm worried that I'll succeed in buying the game, but not being able to activate the account after filling in the product key since I don't have a valid CC for it. So I'm wondering: is there another way to do it?

Will purchasing the game through ClickandBuy also activate the account (thus eliminating the need for a valid CC, as it writes of a monthly subscription THROUGH ClickandBuy)??

No there subscription does not support Click&Buy, Click&Buy is only used for purchasing the game itself, you will get 30 days free that's it, in order to continue playing you'll need to either have a valid CC. or use PayPal (read my post above) or buy a pre paid" credit card.

@Edit : remember, when you set up your game account, you will be asked to enter either your CC details or PayPal account before you can start with your 30 days free game time.

I'll try your advice Smelly. I could some advice on it though. I've worked with Paypal before, but not too experienced with it. I know how to connect a bankaccount to it, but I believe that takes a couple of days (I want to play NOW o.0). But the next step would be to let the Paypal account act as a CC to be able to pay the monthly subscription. Is that possible? Could you give me some advice on setting that up? I'm going to set up a new Paypal account and hook up my bankaccount to it. I'll keep my eye on this Thread for some advice on the problem mentioned above.

i found this on the official forum

"
WARNING if you are about to buy the game.

I am a little upset and hope to get a full refund, wont find out until Monday morning when the accounting department is open.

If you are buying the game using PayPal you must have a credit card

I do not have a credit card, my paypal is connected to my back account, after purchasing the game and downloading the first file I was getting really excited. Once I started the registration I was asked to pick a subscription. So I did and I picked PayPal to pay the subscription, at this time you must have a credit card on your PayPal to create your subscription. With out a subscription you can not enjoy the game you just bought, not even for the first month that you just drop $50 for."

so it seem that you need a working CC to set the account up.

Thanks a lot for that post! You just saved me money o.0 It's exactly what I was afraid off. Without a valid creditcard you CAN NOT play the game. I'm really disappointed at the moment. I was really looking forward to it. If any of you geniuses around found a solution to this, please, I repeat please, let me know by posting in this Thread. I'm not giving up all my hope yet.

prepaid credit card

You buy/request it at your bank, it works the same way a pre paid cellphone sim does, you deposit money on your pre paid credit card and you can spend it all you like, once your money is empty, the card cant be used anymore. Untill you deposit money on it again.

Smelly, you're my hero! I'm going to check with my bank to see if they have a service like that. I have new hope now, I hope getting a card doesn't take too long and that I can see you all ingame soon!

EDIT: I just got off the phone with my bank and they told me they only have normal CC's and no prepaid CC's of any kind. So I'm kind of disappointed. I'm not sure if I'm willing to go through all the trouble of getting a CC, just to play this game. Takes at least 10 work days to get one and I want to play NOW! Sigh, finally a MMORPG comes along that might be different and exciting, but guess what, they decide to limit their payment options, nooooooo /fades.

I'm currently setting up a WireCard account. It's a online creditcard that I can put money on. Does anyone have experience with this service? Has it actually worked for one of you? How much money should I put on there to activate my FE account? (I'll purchase the game with ClickandBuy so that amount isn't relevant).

I have the Wirecard account up and running. I just transfered money from my normal bankaccount to the Wirecard account. Unfortunately this will take at least 3 business days to complete. But once completed that Wirecard account will generate a virtual creditcard for you that can be used anywhere. This means I can fill in the information when activating the FE account and hopefully it will work. Any feedback would be appreciated!
