I can't say I know much about this game, going to give this current closed beta a try, but I was just curious as to why this game has not made it on the list here yet. 

I got my beta invite today as well. Considering I cant actually get ingame due to crashing after every patch session, there isnt much to say anyway.

I hadn't noticed it wasn't listed. That really is odd. Especially considering how many people on these forums seem to crave a spiritual successor to UO. Maybe a sandbox game needs fps mechanics to get hyped here? I'm far more impressed with Dawntide after trying it out than I've been with Darkfall or Mortal Online, and the lack of NDA is refreshing. :p

Yeah, I too been wondering why Dawntide hasn't been given any mention on this site. It's a shame that it hasn't, but hopefully information about Dawntide will be forthcoming on this site soon.

Ive seen one new post in the last 5 or so hours. So either the game is really good, or...the polar opposite. Another thing, considering the game itself has NO NDA AT ALL, why arent there the usual 11-ty billion posts here on mmorpg.com telling us how crap/awesome/sameoldcrap it is?

Probably because it is still in VERY early development. It really isn't even in Beta, its more of a Public Alpha... the only reason it's called a beta is because of the definition of beta.

Plus, most of us DONT WANT IT HERE. No offense but this forum is full of complete idiots who just simply won't appreciate what this game is trying to do, or how it's trying to do it. There is a reason the company hasn't approached this website, and that reason is that nothing constructive comes out of this website... nothing.

I agree with you pretty much, 99% of everything said here is pure bullshit, but theres a special 1% of total awesomeness that comes from players looking for...more...that makes this place pretty special sometimes. Hence the reason that in 3 or so years, Ive posted 70-odd times.

But fair enough, Im not saying the game needs a sub forum here. Just was amazed that there wasnt.

I'm with you guys on the mmorpg.com usual users being just plain ignorant and troll-ish on basically everything they touch, I was just asking out of pure curiosity.  When I get off work I'm going to give it a go for the first time, I'll post some unbiased first impressions.  

Just make sure you know what you are getting into before you post anything here about it.

Remember these words... "Early Development". Those should basically tell you what to expect :)

Oh I completely understand, when I signed up I expected an early Alpha type release, I'm just looking for basic idea of the game at this point.

Please do. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled about 4 times now. Still cant get past the patcher sequence.

Let me know how it is, put me out of my misery, heh.

As you said, as of yet there is no NDA so I will share pics and vids when appropriate.  

What exactly is your problem with the patcher? PM me... I might have a fix for you. I don't want to discuss it here though.

Patcher works for me right now. Did you try changing the ip-address to the patcher as described here?

It was wrong for me when I downloaded the client.

For those I promised game info for, I only had 30 minutes to get into it, but thus far, there are 2 character models, a male and female humanoid with no customization (not a surprise at this point in the dev) No other races playable yet.  The people who were on were all chatty and helpful.  I only fought a few skeletons, but the combat felt simply terrible, but that can always be improved, when I have a few hours to sit down and really give it a try, I will give you guys some actual decent info.  

AND dont play in widescreen, u probaly wont be able to target and miss loot. ITS A POINT AND CLICK COMBAT! but its quite "cool" i just hope they improve controll, quite dull. But its quite fun =)

So far I have found it quite dull and frustrating. It IS beta, but I keep getting stuck in walls, in steps, drop through the world and end up in water somehow, and combat is VERY crude. The world is very barren.  It roughly reminds me of EQ so far...but with better graphics. Getting carpal tunnel filling out bug reports. =)

I've got some screens of Dawntide uploaded to my gallery. Gameplay is still really rough, but the graphics are decent.

Game looks interesting.  I'm sure as word spreads it will be added to the list.

I never could get into these games but maybe I'll give this one a shot.  I liked the ideas behind Darkfall but cant stand the first person MMO view and control scheme.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

And, c'mon, Evony and Playboy Manager are listed on this site.  But no Dawntide?  Sheesh!
