Ok first off, I sure hope this kid survives. At 6 years old I'm pretty sure Id be totally unaware of whats going on if I were in his situation. Obviously this kids a bit more aware of whats going on since he could deploy the vehicle though. The sad thing is , those parents lives are basically over due to this situation: There are some videos of the event as well. The vehicle doesnt look like it was fully finished to be honest and that seriously worries me. It looks like the external rigging wasnt applied. Which makes the entire thing extremely unstable... Lets pray this kids makes it and has one hell of a story. |

when i first heard about this I thought it was just floating around. That thing is hauling ass! What I wanna know is what was its purpose? It almost looks designed to fly in that way like someone is trying to break a record. ![]() "You act like daffodil picking dwarves are anywhere out of the ordinary..."-Laura "Taera" Genender 2008 |

Well the Ballon landed and I think there hasn't been any clear answer as to whether he was inside or not. If he was for sure and he wasnt when it landed theres only one possibility. Hes dead. Probably jumped out and could be almost anywhere. That or he jumped out quick and ran off so mom and dad wouldnt look for him hehe. Hoping for the best. Unless it was a hoax, in which case I hope the little twirp or bigger twirps get fed spinach for 3 years straight. hehehehehe |

Well, just for perspective, the average 6 year old is just over 3 feet and just under 50 pounds. I'm betting he untied it and now is scared of getting in trouble (at least I hope so). Either way, I don't think someone that small would jump or fall out. This is me hoping for the best. |

Looks like the whole thing might have been a wild goose chase, although the boy is still missing. At least someone made the media look like fools as it covered (and is still covering) the story. What's ironic is that there was a real balloon tragedy in China that few know about. "If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." ~ George S Patton |

At this point we really have no clue whats going on. IF the son was correct in saying he saw his brother get in, then he is dead or injured. Something tells me he wasn't in the balloon though. If hes not in the balloon then either he got out and hid or was hidden. This very well could have been a hoax. I sure hope it is. IF he did fall it would be... Horrid. |

I wonder if that wasn't all a hoax. People who appear on that sort of reality TV show seem to be publicity nuts. I guess they had those 15 minutes of some kind of fame and want more, even if it is a tacky sort of celebrity. That thing didn't look as if it could carry a cat, let alone a kid. |

If you watch the music video of the boys I provided above, you would see exactly the mentality you are dealing with here. LOL |

I find it very hard to believe one of his brothers didn't know the low-down. A six year old sends a balloon off and hides for several hours and no one else has a clue. Possible but highly unlikely, glad he's ok but it is a little fishy.

Well I guess I was right. I figured he had hidden or was hidden. One of the things boys or kids in general do when they do something bad is hide. At least hes safe though hehe. Thats what counts. |

I wonder if the ballon even had enough lift to carry a 6 year old boy. |

Parents previously on a reality show.... Hmmm... Little Timmy, hide in the attic and we'll let this giant freaky UFO hoax lookin balloon go and tell the cops we think you're in it then mommy and daddy can figure out a way to turn the publicity into a little cash.... |

I have never laid a finger on my son, and he has really never deserved a spanking either... ...however this little brat and his brother needs to be beaten. If the parents were in on it, they should pay the multi-million dollar bill for all of the air security and rescue operation that happened, and face possible criminal prosecution as well. The fact that this fringe family was on the horrible show Wife Swap leads me to believe that they all have taken us for a ride. Shame on CNN and the local news station that wasted everyone's time on this pathetic story.

If this was a hoax, which its starting to look like, I wouldn't blame local or national news for grabbing the nation's attention. It's not like they were alone in being duped. NORAD and the National Guard had in part began participating. Local authorities though, that's a different story. Flip the house upside down before holding a press conference and fueling the helicopter. Let's just hope WE were the only ones watching and not the world at large. A language barrier elsewhere plus footage of us pulling an aluminum balloon from the sky and beating it with a pitchfork in the middle of some farm sets us back a century or two. |

I'm sorry, spanking kids is not the right solution ever. I did it one time with one of my little ones and to this day I still break down in tears just thinking about it. Never again. Thre are better ways to discipline a child that does require a grown adult to smack a child around or to spank them.
