Star Wars: The Old Republic'

Due from Dark Horse in Early 2010

Dark Horse will release the trade paperback collection of the Star Wars:  The Old Republic Webcomic early in 2010, according to Dark Horse’s Jeremy Atkins at Baltimore Comic-Con.  The collection will include the story that has been serialized on the Star Wars:  The Old Republic videogame Website since early this year (see “Dark Horse’s New Star Wars Initiatives”).

The Star Wars:  The Old Republic videogame is due out from BioWare in January.  The game is highly anticipated; the Webcomic has been exposed to millions of readers since its debut in February. 

The trade paperback will be in a traditional comic size. 

The story is by BioWare’s Rob Chestney; art is by Alex Sanche

Looks like I talked a little too soon and the announcement isn't quite ready yet. That is what I get for bending my own rule about not announcing something until it is completely ready. But some cybersleuth might be able to find more...

 I dont mind if it comes out in january just as long as its complete, im not gonna worry about that since bioware always comes out with finished games :)

I really just dont see how this game is coming out in just 3 months time.  There is no way in 3 months they can release a game that is supposedly a game that is huge in scale.  Unless the game is a single player instanced to death mmo game.

As so many here are found of reciting: "MMOs are never finished."

Given how little of the game has been shown so far, we should all hope the game doesn't release in January.

Well...the signs are certainly pointing that way.

Don't think it'll be released in January already. Such a stealth ninja release would not earn them much money.

Also, they said that any beta would happen very close to release. They have had the game playable for some time now and they want to keep things fresh for when folks get the game for the first time. So, they would have a small beta and a lot of info wouldn't get out until release. I could see the game going retail in Jan. 

I really don't think the game will be released that soon.  That said, I also "hope" they don't release the game that soon since I haven't yet had the time to get a new PC.

Considering the game has been in development for almost four years, a January release isn't outside the realm of possibility.

i think this is false mainly because Mass Effect 2 is due to be released in late jan 2010. if its true ill bite my tongue seriously ill do it

 It is possible to get the game out in January.  If CB starts in Nov. I don't see why not. OB would be late Dec. or Early Jan. followed by release.  I bet he got some flack on that slip up on release date.

God, nothing against Bioware and TOR, but this game is really plagued by mistaken statements. Someone used to call it the industrie's worst kept secret, and the Bioware boss himself spoilt they were making a SW MMO months before the official announcement. Then they said it had microtransactions... and took that back. Then Sean had this hilarious thing with the debate about gay Jedi, lol, and now this. I am sure Sean is a nice guy, but Bioware is SO not able to keep secrets.

Lol... if the game is as entertaining as the production of it, I buy a lifetime sub for sure, hahaha! :D

haha, that's pretty crazy. At this point I think I need to tip my hat to those saying it would release in 09, you guys were only off by a month.

Same here, I've been thinking summer 2010. Before it was known it was TOR, they stated back in 2007 they wanted to get it out the door by 2009. Maybe it's all just meant to confuse us even more. xD

Prob an internal date for when the product should be ready. Then they need to test it. And rework stuff n test again and so on and so on. I still think its not gonna relase before 2013.
