The military i would imagine,  through national drafts used by dems in ww1, ww2,  Korea and vietnam.

and yea the majority of military members are republican,  but when the uniform is on you are non-partisan.  You will be arrested for expressing any public opinions over issues while in uniform.  As will any officer for saying anything negitive about any member of the government.

Now out of uniform is another story,  thats considered you time.
