When you decide to head up to sector 2 and choose your faction. Only take the first intial quest to get the 1,000 faction from whover you choose to go with.

Search the area around your faction town and look for enemy faction camps and roaming mobs. Begin to farm these enemies until your close to the thrid faction bar/meter. You'll start by getting 300 faction a kill and near the end 20 faction a kill. Then proceed back to town and run all the faction quests.

It will save you from scrambling around later in s2 and s3 looking for faction points to fill out your bar/meter completely.

Most say around level 20. At least make sure you do all the AP rewarding quests. (If you like getting the most out of your char early on) You could always come back later though.

I wish. Unfortunately, how they're depicted in the description, and how they seem to be in game, vary widely. Lightbearers seem like spiritual and selfless people, until you see them in game and they go on about how Shiva is the light and how mutations are really blessing and all sorts of dogmatic crap. The Vistas seem ok in principal until you understand how extreme they appear in the game (think whale wars with more guns). There really could be better details on them to help us choose before we start going down a particular build path.

They always employed a very grey area to factions, you get the brightest lights and the darkest hells of fanaticism.

Enforcer patrols keeps the highways and passes clear for everyone (including thier arch enemy CHOTA) all the while utilizing torture squads to extract info. Vista grow crops which they readily share, they also run nasty bioterrorism raids blowing up lifenet facilities and burying techs alive in thier bunkers.

FE is a pretty grey and brutal world.
