I don't often buy games from direct download, but from what I've observed, Direct2Drive tends to be more expensive than retail stores in some cases. (seems like Steam is the better service) Maybe people with more experience can weigh in and confirm how their experience has been with D2D?

Awesome, Europeans, Australians and Asians players can't buy there as far as I understand: This product is only available for purchase in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. from here: www.direct2drive.com/8597/product/Buy-Alganon-Download I hope for them this has some kind of fix or they will loose a lot of customers. -=AlaKraM=- |

I'll be interested in hearing about how this game actually plays when it releases. I was reading up on the class descriptions to see if I'd like to play any of their classes, which is what draws me to MMORPG's usually, and they seemed almost like direct rip-offs from WoW. |

Nothing like further shooting yourself in the foot eh? You guys continue to make some bad decisions and you are working on killing this game. There is someone that I love, even though I don't approve of what he does. There is someone I accept, though some of his thoughts and actions revolt me. There is someone I forgive, though he hurts the people I love the most. That person is me. |

Luckily, I had written down the codes I needed to play the game, and saved it onto my computer. I also downloaded it, and saved it to disk in case I ever wanted to play again. I contacted their CS, and never recieved a reply. So in my book d2d can rot.
I much prefer buying games off Amazon. Although, I have bought games of Steam and Gamer's Gate. |

This restriction only applies to the purchase of the client though Direct2Drive. Alganon can also be pre-ordered directly from Alganon.com. While our launch is North America focused, many of our fans and current beta testers reside outside North America. We are in the process of upgrading our purchase systems to support many different payment types.

I've ordered 4, maybe 5 games from D2D and have never had an issue with them. If indeed they are a dollar or two more than Steam, so be it. I hate Steam. I can't stand the extra intrusive software that goes along with it. I love the Total Ware series yet I'm going to have to end my purchasing of it because they now package the Steam software with the game and it is required to run the game. If there's a workaround or hack to bypass it, I don't know about it. But then, I shouldn't have to be bothered with it, honestly. So, yeah, D2D has been great for me, I'll continue to use it. Steam is like the old AOL software to me. Pain in the full point of contact. "Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..." |

I'm in Australia. I WAS going to purchase this game. It now appears that the restriction on D2D for me has lost you a customer. I suggest you rethink your distribution strategy. |

It is not clear that you can do digital download. The dev post in this thread also only refers to new payment options NOT the ability to do digital download from there site once the product goes retail.

Contact them if the game is not showing up. I bought NWN2 from them about that long ago too and I can still download it from them no problem. If all you sent was one e-mail you didn't really try., I've bought a bunch of shit from them and have never had a problem. |
