Zorndorf playing the conspiracy card to try to justify the Aion numbers on Xfire? The only fact we know is that Aion had close to 400k PREORDERS, anything beyond that is speculation. The claims in this thread are so funny. |

The same ratio we can see with such established other games as wow and lotro. While the ratios fit between other mmo's and not with Aion it is clear that Xfire has an error sampling rate of over more than 100% vs other games. .Oh btw: servers numbers in Korea were 41/43 servers for 400K players and 113 Chinese servers for 1M players. In combined NA/EU they have ... 32 servers. Which clearly shows the lack of servers to support the numbers Xfire shows. Only the gold sellers promoting the game by logging in through Xfire could be a reasonable explantion. 5K Xfire players would suffice to have the error rate shown. Look Zorndorf lost a star again. ;)) The inconvenient linked truth hurts on mmorpg.com |

At this time, we have resolved this error. Our stance... remains firmly against the buying or selling of gold, and we may take action against accounts that are involved in these activities."
Hangon a mo, this is BLIZZARDS own Website, only people with ACCESS to this site would get permission to the server to change/modify websites. Other information regarding this is available but due to Legal issues i am sure not posting these here on mmorpgs website. Our guild has long left BLizzards mmo cash cow behind, silently waiting ressurection in TOR. now a lot of you will keep posting for proof regarding NCsoft. The proofs their EVERY TIME you log into game, how many Gold farmers you block today? Tomorrow? thursday? Friday? Next week? Ncsofts own stance, publicly is "we deplore gold selling and it be bannable" Yeah right... |

So your "proof" is the following: Gold spammers exist in our games so the company is obviously behind them. What a wonderful line of thinking. Let me apply the same kind of logic somewhere else: Thieves exist in our society, so the government is obviously behind them. See what I did there? |

Hmm So Ncsoft sell gold, players buy gold, Ncsoft bans players for buying gold? Ok? they should make an AD hello Aion players want that new armor set come buy gold from us cheap and when you do we can ban your account come its a win win we get money and you get nothing yeahhh, Get it NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am not buying into the Op's assertions, just pointing out that the problem is still there, whatever the cause. You bring up interesting points about the other NCsoft titles, but the part where you say, "This is because NCsoft not putting a huge market into the western end of their gaming." is key. This right here, gives the impression that us western players are somehow worth less than asian customers and are subject to substandard service. This his been one of my main beefs with Asian games. If they treat me like a dirty stepchild, why should I buy their future products? You have a point about why you should give them your money. The main thing is that they thought the west wouldn't like the game that much, but because it got so big so quick that they're hiring more people now. Not much, but that's because they don't want to over hire people and find a drop in activity to just fire those people. Everyone has opinions, but does that make them the universal truth??? NO! |

Dude, do you even read the articles you are linking? And do you know how web-based advertising even WORKS? No? Too bad. I DO. And what happens when SW:TOR goes live? Are you and your guild gonna leave there because of "Bioware-backed credit sellers?" What about Fallen Earth? Or FF14? Or DUST 514? The Secret World? This is not proof that Blizzard advocates selling gold. This is proof of the exact opposite. You fail. Consider yourself blocked and reported for slander. |

If this were true in what ways could it be fixed?
Looking at this from a real world perspective would be like someone in a dark corner of an arcade/amusement center selling tickets for real money. "Psst, over here kid.. Looks like you're in need of some more tickets for that [use your imagination - item] I got a whole roll here, but it's gonna cost ya............[use your imagination for what the seller might ask for in return maybe money maybe something different]" If you are imagining something bad well then you shouldn't be playing mmorpg's you pervert.

In all seriosness though, how hard and or expensive could it be for NCSoft to have someone monitoring the chat channels and banning Gold Spammers? I mean, what $10/hr? for someone to sit there and read the chat channels? By doing nothing, nothing very effective anyway, they are condoning Gold Spammers. In that sence, NCSoft IS, YES NC SOFT IS, behind the gold sellers. Thier lack of effectively dealing with it is promoting it. |

It's to the point in Lineage 2 that it's a joke. People openly talk about botting, about having adena-farming bot trains. They'll come out on their main character - not an alt - to deal with people who kill their bot trains. RMT companies have had a strangle-hold on the game's economy for years now, and conduct their business right out in the open.... almost as if they're *daring* NCSoft to ban them. They do this right under NCSoft's nose, who in turn do nothing about it but say "oh, of course we care about it... no really! We do!" NCSoft is a J-O-K-E when it comes to dealing with RMT and/or botting. Anyone who's followed their games will know this. Sad that so many who are still defending them with Aion will have to learn it the hard way. The fans can flame me all they want, tell me I'm wrong and defend NC to the bitter end... I'm speaking from years of first-hand experience in their MMOs.

At last someone else without blinkers on their eyes..... Im sure a year for now people that enjoy playing Aion that are on these forums defending Ncsofts stance and lack of action in game regarding this spam might actually learn something 1 year from today! So what i am going to do is take a note of every NCsoft defender on this thread that has challenged my claims rather than READING and opening their eyes to the issue. Lets see if in 1 years time, 15 / 10 / 2010 if SPAM continoues for the next whole year without being addressed at what point do these fanboiz actually see the problem IS the developers lack of action. So heres the challenge. In one years time, (should be enough time to root out ALL botters / farmers yes?) Aion should be Gold spam free.... After all NCSOFT are not behind / condoning this act.
Lets sit over here and see. Me for instance tried this game, this game is FUN, just a pity its ruined by having to block numerous names every single day. And im a fat bastard if im going to pay a company to SPAM my Chat chanel.
