Maybe but those games are being made by awsome devs.

I wanted to comment on a couple of things. First Malkosha I would advice against looking at a forum to decide weather or not play a game.  Just realized that the game has only been out 3 or 4 wks and if these people are bored then maybe the game is not for them.  It seems that these people are just tired of MMOs in general.  The great thing about an MMO is that you make your own fun in the game.  If you are grind and trying to reach the top level and not enjoying the game then you will think its boring. Or if they don't enjoy the gameplay then they might be bored.  I say that its fine to have a forum to say that they don't like the game...but remember its just a forum. There are thousands of players that enjoy the game and are playing right now.

Secondly, I wish people would stop flaming each other over who likes the game and who doesn't. If you don't like the game thats cool why make a forum about it? Are you that bored with your life that you have to get on here and complain.  I see no reason to make a post except that you are bored of real life. Why else post for the attention?  There are already forums with people saying the same thing. That doesn't make it fact, thats just poeple bored and thing they have a "new perpective" on the game.  Read some old forums and stop making repeat posts.

Thirdly, stop giving these bored people some thing to do. If you like the game great.  Don't let these forums get to you. Poeple are entitled to their opinion.  Lashing out at them because they don't like the same game you do is just dumb.

Lastly, my opinion of the game (just to stay on topic) at level 21 I have found a great group of people to play with and I am enjoying the game.  I can see that there is a lot of soloing until 16+ when you start get the group quests. I found this time to polish my skills with the templar.  Grouping is where any MMO shines...its the whole reason they even exist imo.  So I think if you don't create a social network you will be bored.  If you are just bored then maybe MMOs are not for you any more.  I took a 4 month break after War to play this game and just played console. I think that really renewed my hunger for a new MMO.  Pus all my friends where picking the game up and we are having a blast.

Cons about the game: spammers and bots (hopefully we will start seeing bots and spammer drop after a bit but this is hardly a deturrent for me).  At this point its clear that spammers are just trying to be annoying. To me that is the biggest problem and really its not the games fault.  The game is also linear( meaning you go in one direction and not a lot of free world) but I like being driven by the story. I would go to a friends or check out another source beside a forum on weather you should buy a game. After all how many people are going to jump on a forum to say how awesome the game is? Not many they are all busy playing.

Hypocrisy at it's best.

Not hypocrycy at all, just people stating their opinions of the game, and YOU have no reason to bash it because your a fanboy. Sure your having a great time with aion, but others, including me aren't.  So please don't say we are stupid and can't socialize at all, you have no idea.  Have fun with aion and please don't flame, its really annoying, and I can tell you many more then 12 people believe aion is boring, just because there is a  lack of flamers on this post, well minus you of course.

I see that you're new on these forums. If you were following them closer you'd known that certain individuals have a certain "history" and their views are well known to the community of mmorpg.com.

Had you known my own history, you'd see that I'm the exact opposite of what you assumed when you read my response to the post above me. I find it quite natural that people feel bored about a game, or dislike it and move on. Feel free to read my other posts one these forums, although more telling are the posts I don't make than the ones I do.

In this particular occasion, the particular individual I've called out, is known to bash and belittle others when they publicly state that they are burned out of his favourite game. To sum it up, there is something wrong with us if we feel burned out with the most popular MMO in existence. Yet, he has no problem coming on another game's forum and proclaim that it's natural for people to feel bored by it. According to him there is something wrong when we're bored with his game, while it's natural to feel bored by Aion. There lies the hypocrisy.

I have no issue with people feeling bored with Aion. It is perfectly natural. It's not uncommon to pick something that we initially thought it's good and funny, but along the way we found out that it's not to our tastes. I've also mentioned that I currently enjoy Aion, but this is something that can change at any time, either due to Aion issues or some competitive MMO becoming more irresistible to play ;)

@ X,

To keep you back on track...

I responded to a person who said she/he was almost banned because she/he said the game was boring a fe'w weeks ago on mmorpg.com... (see original msg in this thread).

I posted the following text to answer his/her remark: Here is what you reacted to:

--------------------

I'll explain that.

mmorpg.com needs desperately a NEW shiny kid on the block.

We saw it with WAR. Remember how the Chief editor of this site himself openly stated he found War a great game with only a minor little fault here and there.

The fact he posted this even in the "forums", showed me ... a lot... and it was ... War (?!?!?).

--------

In fact the complete INDUSTRY (perhaps even Blizzard themselves) want that new shiny game.

Their jobs depend on it, their income, their investments (!) (very important) and ... the gold sellers (a multi billion industry) want it.

The JOKE of it all is: no one can come up with something decent.

---> So they ALL hype craptastic games. And the result of that is what we see now during the last 2 years.

The industry falls even harder on its face.

You can fool some people some of the time, but you can never fool ALL people all of the time.

This thread and zillions of others around the world shows it. Even gold sellers spamming Xfire will not avoid what everyone sees.

Neither does deleting posts and threads that could "harm" a game.

For that to succeed you need to live in China.

--- End of quote.

I never even used the word "bored" in my post.

I just responded to a person why there is SUCH sensitive on mmorpg.com and even its moderators.

THEN you come in and jump on my person .... without even reading my post. And if you would track my records against Aion is that it is used as a remedy to open up NEW games being played massively in the mmo genre... without even a "let's see and W8 attitude".

But that's being hyped artificially. In a year after AoC andf WAR, as failed XXX  killers.

So first read upon the post before reacting to ol' Zorn... :)))

I reacted given our own history, not a random answer to a random person. I've stated in the past that I was a burn out of a game I enjoyed a lot and played for years. Despite saying that I enjoyed the game a lot and played it for years, you felt the need to belittle me, classify me and all similar burnouts as haters and proclaim our opinion on the game as irrelevant.

Both our post history is visible for anyone to explore.

Besides, there is another issue at hand. I respond to this thread shedding some mild positive light, since I'm playing the game. The people who got bored with the game, have at least given it a chance before abandon it. What exactly are the people who never played the game or don't intent to are doing in this thread?

Simple answer:

Trying to give an explanation why people are bored so quickly by .... having a general look at the state of this industry... which (like I said) desperately wants something new (and massively popluar) to promote the industry as a whole.

Be it the developpers themselves, the media around it , the players and the gold sellers.

But you can't artificially "create" the new shiny kid in town or else you get the reaction 'bored' above. And mods that ban people for saying they are bored of a game is not contributing anything (my post originally).

It is all very clearly stated in the italics of my post above.

How can people be satisfied by a new MMORPG if its the same lame shit again, that weve seen so many times in so many other games. Problem with new MMO´s is that its either the same lame shit again, or it just lacks content and/or the promised features. How can we be satisfied with that.

The problem with the industry is that they either want to make another cashcow and fail to grasp the "RPG" part in mmo, or they do not have the manpower and skills and experience to realize their visions.

The MMORPG Genre is stagnant since years. The only thing thats evolving is graphics.

Ill give you one simple example what someone could do to give a MMO the RPG part of it: Chessboards. What, Chessboards? Yea, exactly that. In UO my bud and i  could just visit an inn in Trinsic or wherever, or even in our own house, sit down, doubleklick on the chessboard, and have a chess-game together.

When we did this in our house, we could watch reds outside running past our house, chasing blues, or blues chasing reds, while we, in our comfortable little house and in safety, could relax, have fun, and socialize.

The game basically provided the tools to socialize. You cant have real roleplaying in a MMO whn it doesnt provide the tools to do so.

And UO is 10 years old. No mmo after UO managed to have chessboards.... That fact alone proves that the so called next generation mmos are not what they claim to be.

Btw, im playing Eve Online, because its different and competitive and challenging, and im anxiously awaiting Walking in Stations. There we will be able to have minigames for money, play strategy games together, and whatnot.

That yet proves again that CCP is the only MMO company in the world who are able to grasp what a mmorpg should be, AND at the same time have the skills, manpower and experience to realise it.

Don't just read posts and decided on a game.. I did that for CO, Warhammer, AOC and EVE online.  All those positive posts made me buy those games and I dislike every single one of them.  After reading all the negative posts about Aion, I was not going to play, until there was nothing in the market, I had no choice but to play on Chinese server, I found Aion was not boring at all.  So, not all rewards are correct.

Unless you are Chinese I don't get this. How could you read the quests? Which quest lines and ADVENTURES did you follow. How can you speak of an mmo ROle PLAying GAme if you only see some weird marks above the heads...

That alone makes your statement very strange already.

There is a translation patch you can find somewhere, I had to use one in Chinese beta.

What was the point of your post? You just said that MMO have the same stuff in them yet you suggestion a feature that is in another game already? Also you stated you can't socialize in MMOs just because you can't roleplay and how does this prove that "so called next genration games are not what they claimed to be"? I never heard any MMO say " We RP because we are a next generation MMO!" You know why... cause rolepalying is played out and old.   Your arguement is not even valid as you contridict yourself by saying you want some thing new but really you want more of the same.   Lastly, If the MMO genre is so stale why are there more MMOs out these past monthes then all last year? Get facts and make sense in a post friend.

Back to the point of the forum...one the problems is Aion can never live up to the 3-4 year hype train it was on.  NCsoft should have kept the lid on the game until a least a year.  Its the same thing that Christmas did for you as a kid..all that hype for 30 minutes of present opening.  Also after 2-3wks of play I would say that you have not explored the game enought to say that you are bored. I would say maybe its dislike of the game or burned out on MMOs. Its like starting over again...some people just don't like it.  If you find Aion boring then take a break from MMOs. Its likely that you are bored with the genre.

soooo, you couldnt grasp the point of my post. fine.  maybe thats the reason why the first paragraph in your reply made zero sense. But alright, ill bite (for this time), even if your fanboyism is to obvious, and its a fact one can never have a constructive argument with a fanboi. But nonetheless, ill try to break the point of my post to you in simpler words so that even you can grasp it.

As for RP´ing: You obviously define that term by players playing it out by themselves, talking in medieval language and all that shit. I hate to break it to you, but i can do that in every MMO and their Mother, no matter how shitty the game is.

But "RP´ing" in your terms, thats not the point of my post. The point is, that Aion THE GAME is nothing but another stupid and boring grinder, with nothing else to it.  A good mmorpg, as opposed to aion, would provide more than just grindeage.

Chessboards are only one example out of millions what companies could do. Treasure hunting with treasure maps anyone?

But youll probably never be able to grasp that, thats why im stopping here. I could rip your whole post apart, but its  futile. Some people just dont have the attention span to see the bigger picture.

I still have the rest of this month to play it before I will have to re sub so I am going to roll another class and give it one more go. Maybe this time will be different since I know what to expect. XD

I'm glad you're going to give it another proper go, but IMO re-rolling can sometimes make a bad situation worse, when it comes to boredom. You might find yourself totally fed up with the game by the time you hit lvl 25 or so, and discover perhaps the class isn't for you. (not trying to be negative here, lol. Just another perspective). My main beef with Aion (apart from gold spammers / sellers) is the lack of replayability /  linearity of the lower lvls..which might not be an issue for some.

Anyway, As a lvl 30 Templar, you have so much to look forward to in the game, be it group pvp, instances, etc.. - far more viable than my SM, I'd imagine and a lot more in demand. (I wouldnt be playing as one if I didn't love the class so much).

I love these posts. They start off sounding objective, "I would advice against looking at a forum to decide weather or not play a game". Then spends the rest of the paragraph psycho-analyzing and jumping to conclusions about everyone who says they don't like the game. You might as well just drop the arm-chair psychologist routine and say "Ignore everyone who posts negative comments here. The game is great". Embrace your bias.

And the Cracker Jack box psycho-analysis continues...

Dude, seriously... they're just opinions. People post opinions, others read them and then either agree or disagree and, ideally, explain why either way.

Thirdly, stop giving these bored people some thing to do. If you like the game great.  Don't let these forums get to you. Poeple are entitled to their opinion.  Lashing out at them because they don't like the same game you do is just dumb.

Oh the irony! Yes, you're right... people are entitled to their opinions... they're also entitled to share them. They're also entitled to share them without being psycho-analyzed by some forum Dr. Phil. And here's the kicker... people who don't like others' opinions are free to not read them.

Pus all my friends where picking the game up and we are having a blast.

.... but remember... you shouldn't go by forum posts to decide whether or not a game is for you :). I read that in a forum post just recently.

Just a couple points here....
1. The spammers are trying to advertise their business - being annoying is a natural result of that.
2. It's not "the game's fault", is kind of a weird statement, but okay. However, it's certainly the fault of the people behind it, NCSoft, for not having better measures in place *after developing, launching and maintaining 3 in-house MMOs over the course of 7+ years*. Other companies on their first MMO do a better job at preventing and dealing with RMT than these people do.

And this is why i hate wow, because it has introduced the "i must get to level cap first" crowd into the mmo community. You people continuously complain about every single thing until finally its made easier for you, you want everything to be right now and it has to take minimal effort to get it. MMorpg's used be about socializing and grouping up to attain a common goal, now its just about loot and getting to level cap, then complaining the game has no content. MMo developers are listening to all you idiots and this is why we have shallow boring games today..theres no challenge and everything is given to you while having your fat hand held along the way.

Yeah I myself also became very bored of this game.  Leveled a Gladiator to level 22 and left it there.   Logged in last night to see if I can push on and was a bit turned off by the new "minigame" inside of Aion.  For the first 5 minutes of logging in I had to sit there and play the game known us "Kill the Spammers." And no it's not block the 3 or 4 spammers.  I was counting how many i had to block, it was 11 in just the general chat.  Then In the Gladiator chat were another 5.  But whatever you can "block" them so I shouldn't cry right?  I ran up to the 1st mob killed it then 2nd mob, no more than 3 minutes I went back into the gen chat and there I find more spammers scrolling those annoying icons.....I sighed and I logged the eff out.

Fulmillment of desire is an illusion. Desire leads to more desire, not to satisfaction.

Same here, but thankfully reading forums (and posts like this) and reviews, I have not spent a dime on or played Aion at all (nor plan to, ever).  Dragon Age looks excellent, there are several different, what appear to be very engaging, coherent story lines in it, something most MMOs lack.
