If your wanting to try Aion then you shouldn't come here for advice about the game. Someone on here has said before that there is to many fanboi's and trolls here, and that is true. If u want to learn about Aion then go to the Aion website, and read the forums there at least they all come from people that you know play the game. To many people here are out to just run their mouth, and talk poorly about games or hype them up to much for whatever reason.

He means www.aiononline.com not wiononline :P but yeah sometimes it's better looking at the game's own site then here so many haters here that can make you change view if you want to try something new.

I totally agree... this site is the worst place to get any information on a game you're interested in.

The lack of moderation and the amount of trolling on this site has increased incredibly in the past couple years.  The majority of people posting here are people who will put down any game except the one they are currently playing and enjoying.

I allways chose to try a game based on official info and some youtube videos.

I never ever chose a game based on personal opinions write on a forum. I like to build my own opinion, and to do that i need to try it (if the game call my attention based on official info and some gameplay movies).

And when i dont like the game i just forget is existence...  ;)

So the op advice makes sense, i come to mmorpg.com to know news about mmorpg's games and check forums of the game im playing or waiting to play to see some new info, some new videos, links, etc. Reviews made by players? nahhh, most of them sux and is full of lies (no matter if it is made by a hater or a fanboy)  :)

Meh, people need to make up their own minds.  Then again, therein lies the problem, most people have a hard time choosing what color underwear to wear without consulting someone else for their "opinion".  Oh well, let the leaders lead and the followers follow . . .

I would have to say to find out the truth of people's opinions about a game going to a games own site is a horrible idea.  To find out tech specs and features yes....but a game will delete and monitor their own forum boards to remove anything to negative if they wanted too.

It's still wrong if yu put your mouse on the link you will see it will direct you to www.wiononline.com,  it's better if you remove the hyperlink and redo it :)

u cant trust anyone, and get information in foruns isnt about that, its about having a basis so U can try this game. Its not read 1 post "im loving aion best game evar" and ofc we have very terrible trolls here, but we have FEW ppl here that DO make some interesting additions to whats good and bad about the game, u need to filter information from every post here, so u can gave a BASIS if u gonna like it or not.

I personaly, read there, the official forum, the ULTRA fanbot forum THEN tryed the game myself in the closed/open betas, and didnt like. not my taste just that.

You shouldn't really listen to anyone really, here or the official Aion forums. Best thing for a person to do is think for themself's and base a opinion for themself's. By actually trying it themself's, which is why some people wait for a trial to pop up... before they jump in or not. Listening to other people opinion's, should be nomore then getting a rough idea of what the game may or may not be like. But nothing beat's personal expierence with said game or anything on Earth for that matter.

Forums like this one is nothing more then people just expressing how they feel about the game, on unbias ground's. Even if it comes off as a giddy fanboi or a ugly cave dwelling troll.

When i first joined MMORPG i came on here for advice from the beta testers of WoW, i totally agree back then this was a usefull site to use and read views and reviews but now tbh i very very rarely use it.

80% of posts imo are of total crap, over the years it's got worse and worse, i swear the people writing this never ever even play on the games they write about.

But the difference is that we don't see you going in almost every thread or creating threads that aion sucks and that they should not try it while adding some lies in the way.

Thanks for the warning OP, good thing you gave it since none of the people who visit here can discern things for themselves.

Bah, most people are smart enough to separate the wheat from the chaff, and just because something is negative doesn't necessarily make it a lie. (or true for the matter).

Aion might not be the game for you depending on how you like your game play.  It has more grinding them most recent games, but less than L2.  Depending how much you enjoy grinding on mobs plays a big factor in how much you'll enjoy the game. (I don't mind myself, easier than running all over the place doing quests sometimes)

It's got a strong PVP focus in the Abyss, if that's not your style, you're not going to like Aion.

Its not terribly imaginative or deep.  But the game has a long way to go and this will improve over time.

But it will never try to be all things to all people, foolish to hope for otherwise.

I currently enjoy playing it, but perhaps the grind will one day wear me down.  If so, no big deal, but you won't see me starting a bunch of new threads here on whether I enjoyed the game or not. (but I will gladly pile on a thread started by another)

There's a healthy dose of both sides of the fence in the Aion sub forums here.  Every site has trolls and the aiononline forums have just as much if not more people complaining and trolling about the game than here. 

My advice to those that haven't figured out the way of the internet yet, that happen to read some negative things on forums is to just be cautiously optimistic.  No matter what forum you go to you're going to read about how bad the game is.  For example, if you go to the official WoW forums you'd think it's the worst game to ever be created, yet it still holds the most subscriber numbers and has more servers full to capacity every night than any other mmo.

Just scan thru the topics in the AION forum.  If someone mentions they like the game and posts a positive review... the trolls are there almost immediately knocking down the poster.

Yes MMORPG.com isn t the best source, but any official site isn t the best either. At least on here you do get to see the bad and not just some fanboi induced babble. Aion to me is the most boring game I ve played in years. Do I start posts regardng this no, but if theres a topic about it being the funnest game ever and people want opinions i ll give it.

Aye, i would agree going to the official site for information for the game. Thats where players who actually play the game go, and spend time on the game... Going here for information is like going to war. You'll get good and the bad... Mostly the bad though. Sorry to say.

Nothing wrong with people sharing their opinions on games, there's no requirement that I read them. (and I frequently don't)

I will say this, I made the decision to play EVE from what I read on these forums and it was the best move I ever made.  I currently am playing Aion based on what I read here as well, as Lineage 2 was a game I enjoyed, even if the grind finally broke me.

I also decided to not play DF from what I read here, and I'm pretty sure that was a good decision on my part.  Not because I don't think DF is a good game, it may well be, but I'm pretty sure open world pvp/ with full looting isn't a play style I'm really going to be fond of.  I just get too attached to my stuff. 

I have to say, people slammed LOTRO, AOC and WAR, and in the end I ignored them and bought all 3.

The critics were right, and I could have saved myself  $300 bucks in the process.  (I buy two copies of every game at a minimum)

Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained I suppose, but these forums did keep me from trying some other games which in the long run probably turned out for the best.

I visit this site now mostly for the information it provides about release dates, betas, new/upcoming games and contests.

I used to rely on it much more in the past than I do now, including which games to play based on member recommendations... but after this site started filling with trolls with alternative motives, I decided their suggestions weren't worth considering.
