Ive played both, I have mixed feelings about both yet I still enjoy both of them.  I currently dont sub to either, but Im considering picking up a third game to sub to and was considering these two.

Yet, I'd still like to know how some of you feel about these two games if you've played both or are currently playing them.

So, consider this dilema.  If for whatever reason you could only play these two MMO's and no others, which would you choose?  Why specifically would you choose one over the other?  Do you think the game you would NOT choose offers anything at all over the game you would choose?

For some reason, the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this topic was the "Death or Boondah" joke.

I guess Warhammer for me.

Mainly for the PvP available through scenarios and battling over objectives.  Unless they rectified it though it turns into a mess come T4 but until then you can at least have fun with that and always start over with another toon to enjoy those parts of it again.

I was going to try and come up with more but I honestly was so dissappointed by both of these games that's the best I can do.

If Warhammer had a higher population, I would definitely say Warhammer.

However, both games have somewhat small populations, so I would have to pick AOC. Because AOC has much more solo content than WAR. Whereas WAR requires a high population to be any fun.

WAR - but pick a high pop server/side

Reasons? Take your pick: looks, gameplay, lore...Mythic made lots of mistakes and I don't support WAR really, but they got a lot less *wrong* than the abomination that is Age of Cheese.

If you want a better solo game, play something offline. (Because the solo instances of AoC are like a worse version of most of them)

I can't believe I'm playing EQ1 again...and having tons of fun

AoC because its actually something a tad different. I had a lot of fun levels 1-30.

Warhammer was fun too but that was at release before we all realized the mechanical failure of the game. Now there is no one to play with as you level.

You're pretty much questing solo as you level with the occasional group grind in either gamer. Warhammer will feel a lot like WoW but clunkier. AoC will be different and for me that would be enough.

It really boils down to (by most accounts) whether you would prefer to participate in fun PVP through two tiers in WAR and get bored or PVE through 80 lvls of enjoyable PVE in AOC. The problem with both games seems to be they grow stale once you have had your fill of what makes them fun. Personally I prefer AOC for the mix of fun in both PVP and PVE got to 45. Right now I am playing WAR but on all servers its pretty dead, I have only ranked to 14 so far at the highest. I can not tell you if AOC has this problem now or not.

AoC

Setting is refreshing compared to most typical fantasy MMOs (I love fantasy more than anything, but a little change is always nice).

The PvE from levels 1-20 is super fun. Tortage is amazing.

Dosent feel like a giant battleground.

My vote would be Warhammer. I prefer Games Workshop fantasy over Conan's low fantasy. Plus I like the low cost of entry to PvP. Roll a toon and go. No need for max level or uber gear.

I did like cutting off heads in AoC though

Dunno, rating them from 1 to 10 I'd both give them something like a 5 or 6. They're actually good games, but not that good that I consider them beeing worth the subscription fee.

I played both for a bit. My max char on AOC was a lvl 27 tempest of set I think, but I got annoyed by the invisible and visible walls everywhere and the loading screens, and that the quests I had were each sending me in totally different directions. I liked the music and graphics, but that there exists only a single starting area killed the game for me somehow.

Warhammer I played until about lvl 18 or something I guess... was it 18? I actually can't remember. I liked the graphics and races and classes and stuff. But somehow it just didn't hook me... I played about each race and class there for a bit, and had fun with about each but none felt like beeing the one thing that is perfect. The pvp was cute but somehow weird as well. Sometimes I landed in a BG were everyone was dozens of levels higher than me and I just kept dying and couldnt scratch anyone, and if the people were my level their actions had as much purpose as those of a group of puppies.

If I'd have to choose? I don't know. Flip a coin. Probably AOC though simply because there are classes that I never tried there.

Right now I play FE though, and having so far more fun than I had in both those.

Nice graphics, good animations, a community to speak of, etc etc.... Yeah I'd choose Age of Conan.

At this point I'd be most interested in going back to try AOC again, mostly because it was only 6-8 months ago that I recently reminded myself of how shallow WAR's combat was.

It's just flat out unenjoyable to have a set, unchanging DPS rotation that never changes.

I may be sorta harsh on EVE, but damn is this a cool trailer (EVE Dominion).

Played Warhammer , again, a few months back and it still couldnt keep me interested. Not much to do but scenarios. Havnt played AOC since this time last year and have heard its better but have yet to retry it.

It has to be true, i have internet links.

I have played both and I liked Warhammer much better than AoC. Though AoC did have boobies if that is your thing.

Age of Conan! Great combat and graphics. Lots to do. Fun quest lines.

Definitely Age of Conan.

AoC for me, not really much to say except neither game was that bad...

Just to make things clear...

AoC hands down, a deeper, richer graphical superior game.

Im sorry but both games are hands down pathetic.

I would take EQ2, WoW or Lotro over these horrid games anyday.

If I have to compare two pieces of shit I would take WAR i guess for the tier 1 and 2 pvp.

I would never suggest these games to anyone, I'm just not that mean.

Why would I play a pathetic themepark MMO when I could enjoy a masterpiece like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age?
