I have ben playing Aion for two weeks now, and i have to say im just not very enthused. Im only in the high teens (19) because i just cant get into the grind of the game much.

1. Aion is very soloable, and has quests but the quests are the regular fed-ex style quests. Go out and kill mobs an bring back loot from mobs to quest giver.

2. at a certain point its better to grind mobs then it is to quest, which is where this gets grulling. I dont mind personally about the grind, but i do mind doing it alone.

Why am i doing it alone? because you get better xp when grinding alone at my level atleast. If i have to kill the same mobs over and over again untill its time to move to a different level mob, the least the devs could do is make it so its a better thing to do with a group then by myself. As it stands i have noone to talk to, im fighting against others to get the mobs which slows down time, and since there is no change in the strategy of fighting the mobs, im doing the same exact thing over and over again. I hat to say this but thats boring, and im sure that this is what other people mean by this game being boring. If there is going to be a heavy emphasis on grinding, then in my opinion they should:

                            1. randomize the Ai of mobs so that they do different things, which will help switch your battle tactics

                             2. Promote group grinding exp perks so people can play together more while there leveling.

At this point i like the game, but my play time is becoming less and less. I dont think ill last much longer but good luck to everyone else out there.

As far as I know, all the chinese power level guide tell you to group from level 30-50.

They say you level faster from 30-50 if you stay in group the entire time.

If you have problems with the grind at lvl 19 I guess you should stop Aion right now.

The grind at these level is just inexistant compared to the lvl 30-50

You shouldn't be hitting the grind unless you're around 21-22. There is plenty of group content around your level (Black Claw if Asmodian, Krall if Elyos) that will take you to 20 and beyond if you complete it; once you're done you get to leave for a new continent(s) and a whole new set of quests that should fill the gap until 22 or so (assuming you breeze through them).

Sorry to hear that. If your server is absolutely barren, then try to get to 20 and you'll at least get access to the new campaign quests in the 20-30 area.

Join a good legion.  I havn't used the LFG channel for weeks.  We have tanks and clerics that don't like to solo and that's enough to get a party rolling.

some problems I have with finding some legion is that most force you to use teamspeak to join them and I will never use microphone while playing a game never.

LOL! i'm similar. I rarely use vent unless I'm in a tough area with a group. For me I'd rather listen to ingame sounds then people over my speakers miles away. Not only that but theres always bound to be afew on vent that I would likely avoid in real life so I dont want to feel forced to talk with them simply because I'm on vent. I also play with g/f so that makes a difference as well

Anyways! Not all good legions require vent, its usually only the more "hardcore" legions that do. A casual legion would never expect you to be on vent when ever your ingame, thats just nuts...LOL

yup.  I'm more into casual legions and they've never required me to use vent.  I logged into it once, but only one person was in there and they were afk.  That doesn't mean they don't put together a good group to hammer out quests and mobs though.

LFG is as simple as being:

"Who wants to kill stuff?"

and POW! we got ourselves a group going.

I can attest to Goldendog's claim. Even throwing together a PUG is not very hard. Now, I have been in some PUGs that weren't quite accustomed to grouping and game mechanics, but this is not typical. Even if you are not in a good legion, you should be able to throw together a group for something fairly quickly.
