Why people care about Aion?

Cant they see its more of the same? Is it because the pretty graphics?

Why do you care?

Can't you leave others that are having fun alone and you go your way?

What I am playing seems to be a decent game, my only gripe being the fact that you are given wings and then told you can't use them for the majority of the deal. There are people like me, innocent bystanders that don't care either way and tell it like it is - or - you have the NCsoft fans, WoW-death cult members and even WoW evangelists here just to bash it from within. It's a real mess in the game's chat channels, as well as the obvious beef in the forums - but in the end all the hype is being set by the opposing ends of the spectrum that want Aion to die or for Aion to kill WoW. Very lame.

There was never really any hype set by the developers either, nothing other than the flying gimmick and PvP abyss stuff was dangling on a stick (and flying is a bit meh atm). They never claimed to be doing combat, crafting, etc better - and they didn't. I think all this player-made hype started a comparison war where the only two being mentioned are Aion and WoW. See my above point of this game just being a battleground for WoW fans and haters to fight on.

That is a new trend I have noticed. People are starting to leave out certain verbs in sentences of this construction (e.g. "where you at?"). I really........really hate this sort of thing.

The thing is, you can use them a LOT more than you make it seem. I use them all the time in no fly zones to glide - and also glide bounce my way - back to cities or to quest points that happen to be down hill, etc. I don't know if you've figured out how to bounce your way around, but if you do... I think you'll see the wings in a whole new light.

How to bounce?

When you tap your space bar after jumping (to begin gliding) don't hold your "w" or "s" key. Hit num lock to auto run, and hold right click to move yourself and guide yourself, and you will bounce - most times, there are times when you hit a perfectly flat spot or start going uphill and stop gliding - to your destination. I've done this many times, making a 3 minute trip into a 45 second trip.

Why do they? Because even though its not something new or revolutionary, its a new game and something a little different than what they are used to playing (not mechanic wise, but overall new game smell).

To me the game was really 'meh' at best, but if others like it, more power to them. If they feel they spent money on something they enjoy right now, thats all that really matters.

Agree with this poster, wasn't for me either but lots of my freinds are really enjoying it. Let them play and get on with it and you mr op get on and do your own thing.

but meh FFXIV is coming soon, then All my problems shall go away =)

It is more of the same as you say, but its also different from whats out there enough to make it worth playing. It has elements from DAOC, Lineage 2, wow, and probably several other games.

The pvp atm is a lot of fun and the pve isnt to shabby.

We like the same with more beautiful gfx!

And its all about the wings ofc... ;)

Its Graphics is amazing!

It's more or less the same.  But overall better quality than the rest of the game which is more or less the same.

If you find a game which is not more or less the same, and have over 1 million concurrent subscriber, let me know.

I just dont understand either. I mean there is so many good ideas from games old and new, why not take the good from each and some innovative new Ideas and make something So good, people can not help but play it?

Sometimes when you care so much about something...you just have to let it go...

Different people have different things they care about.

Personally do not care any about AION.

Aion is another game. when you only go for grind...only nice graphic and wings are new for this MMO, rest is the same, so why pay for game that dont give nothing new

Oh my god! I'm sick of this "aion vs WoW" crap that flys from one end of the site to the other. Look, I play both games (more so WoW than aion but I really don't want to fight over which is best) and I to have things I dislike about both games but please, for **** sake, stop this "<insert MMO here> vs WoW"  crap.
