Hello, Fellow mmorpg.com readers, I'm downloading the trial for EQ2 as i'm typing and i would love it if someone could help me out on wich server i should pick, I'd also love some of the basics, What classes are the least played? What race/class combo is good for beginners, I would love if someone currently playing could tell me some about the different classes.

I also started the trial. Made a Necromancer on Antonio Bayle server. Can somebody tell me if Necromancers are any good?

Necro is probably the best beginning class there is. Easy to play, and can solo if need be. Everfrost use to be my server and had a good communty.

Way too many classes to name. I believe each class is broken down to fighter, mage, healer, scout, and they are further broken down to specialities and other differences.

If you are playing pvp, I'd recommend a scout class. You will get raped since we are all noobs, so its good to hide here and there until you understand the game better. If you are doing pve, i'd still recommend scout, you wont be as relied on as tanks and healers but still bring something to the table (dps) to be valuable. Try ranger or asassin. Shadowknight tends to be the most played class btw.
