How is aion now. i played in the beta and it seemed pretty solid. the only reason i did not get it right away was because of the long queues and down time.  has it got any better? how is the end game and pvp now?

I have no idea how the end game is, I just hit level 20.  I am having a great time in the game so far.  Most servers are High pop, but I havent seen a que in a while (I play on a high pop server) and there are some new servers with low pop.

 Don't buy it, the game is a horribly boring grind and the PVP sucks.  I would rather play WoW. (I hate WoW)

I also played in the beta, just activated my account today(yesterday now to be precise) and haven't experienced a queue on both servers i picked(EU) now when you think it was a saturday night too i think the queues are gone! (just an observation)

hmmm.... thanks. im looking for something freakyfunandpopandfresh. been playing wow sence beta. its time for something new. and i have tried alot even darkfall(kind of a joke though it can be fun). been playing eve a bit till i worked up to get a destroyer and got to a mission where i needed help. some guy offered to help so we start a fleet and he helps me out (mind you im new ok) he loots my items and then jettesons them saying sorry didn't mean to take them. then i get flagged and he kills me but leaves my pod calls me stupid and flys way. I like eve alot but if thats what the community is gonna be like i dunno if i still wanna play.

That's what makes games like EVE exciting, people don't have to follow strict rules like themepark type games. Not everyone wants a linear questline and boring gameplay (not saying that is Aion)

That is rather funny XD  I do feel bad for you.  EVE learning curve is very very very high.  

Which is why I like it more than AION.  AION is themepark and doesn't innovate very much.   Play RFO, L2, Rohan, or watch TERA videos and you will find much of the same that AION delivers.  People are just glazed and think AION is the best thing in the world.  RFO was much of the same for me too on release, but it only lasted 2 months of sub time.

needless to say, I will never buy another Korean MMO out of impulse.

I bought the game and now i will return to Age of Conan.Doesn't worth to spend money on it.With that money you can play something much better.I'm not saying to play AOC, nah AoC has his own problems, you can play LOTRO, Vanguard, Ryzom...

if you like pvp give it a try once you hit the abyss the fun goes way up. this forum is the worst place to ask any question about any games its a cesspool for trolls and fanboys. it is nothing like wow but the lot that played nothing but WoW and still think blizzard invented MMOs will compare every game (even games that came before it) to WoW.

I'm enjoying the game.  Definitely the best part of it to me is the PvP aspect.  It certainly isn't anything groundbreaking but it's a good game with the potential to be better pending on what the devs add to the game.

Frankly, the game became a lot more interesting to me once I hit 20+ due to areas finally opening up and having the option to get into PvP if I desired.

Aion is a great game. I am currently level 30 and enjoying the game alot. I say read up on it as much as you can to get an understanding of it and then decide if you want to try it or not.

Obviously a lot of people are having a lot of fun playing it.  Listing to ignorant fools probably isn't the best way to decide about playing a game.  Unfortunately there's no free trial out there yet, which is unfortunate.  Too bad you didn't get a chance to play in the open beta.

If I were going to compare it to WoW, I'd say it's a prettier WoW... It has a fresh new world, new lore... The combat is updated, more active, so the losers who just spam a single attack button aren't going to have as much fun.  Wings are ok, kinda nifty, but unlike what many would have you believe, they're not what the whole game hinges on.  It's just a small part of the game, something that adds a little bit to the combat.

I had a blast playing in the Beta, but due to the preference of my brothers, I'm playing Champions for the time being.  If i t were just up to me, I would have gone with Aion.  I played WoW for years, totally burned myself out on it.  Aion was familiar enough to let me get into it quickly, but different enough to let me enjoy myself again and get lost in a game for the first time in years.

I think its a good game plus its something new but it doesnt feel like a new game. I mean this in the way the game is running. The game has only been out for a few weeks and I rarely have any lag or server crashes. It was hard to log in at first but they fixed that and added more servers and from what I hear on most chat channels alot of people are liking this game.

If you do decide to get it, once you reach Miraju's Holy ground there is a portal that can transport you to Eltnan instead of using the teleport which costs a bit. Just something to help save you some money when you reach level 19.

This is a great example of one of the things that makes the game great... the community is not a bunch of assholes.

So many people fail to see the importance of that.

I am a lvl 37 Sorc. I am having a GREAT time. Do not listen to people who badmouth the game who played in beta. These people more than likely never made it to the abyss. And even if they did, there werent enough players that high lvl to get a sense of the pvp. Its a great game.

I personally found the game more boring than watching paint dry.  I got to lvl 27 as a gladiator, and at first i find out like, wow this is a new game I love it, but then gradually with all the afk bastard shops, no realy customization of character skill sor anything, and the total grind I personally found, and it looking like every other asian grind game ive played, albeit a bit more westernised, the long ass server ques, and the gayest function I have found in any game the /LOCATE function.  Flying WTF is it for i still dont understand?  Was this game main selling popint having wings and flying?  What a joke seriuos.  I found myself bored to death.  I was in a legion of 80 people about 40 active people, i quit 1 week ago, and on my legions forums since i quit and before, there have been posts of people saying they are stopping and Aion is not what they were hoping it was going to be.

If I wasn't burnt out on mmos right now I probably would be giving Aion a try right now. The only aspect I have read that I don't like is a lvl grind after 20, but that is something I feel I could get over. I have killed things for hours in the past farming so killing for xp wouldn't be much different. Aion just seems to be one of the most polished mmos to be released recently, and one that might be able to get even better with time.

Neither group has it really right anyways.  There are times at higher levels you will have to grind a bit but the few times I had to it has been less than a quarter of the level which really is no time at all considering how much xp you get from mobs in this game.

So there is some "grind" (really hate using that term considering all mmos have it in one way or another but whatever it's the flavor of the day) but not to the extent some make it out to be.

At least through lvl 31 in the game anyways.

All I can say is, dont play if your gfx card crashes.

If you've ever played your average Korean grinder - that's Aion.  One quest chain per race, one starting area per race, simplistic levelling system, no depth whatsoever, the thinnest of plots, no variety whatsoever, and all the quests are all banal crap such as "Kill X mobs", "Gather X skins" and the usual Fed-Ex quests.  To give the illusion of containing actual gameplay, you will be running around the map constantly for the most trivial reasons.  The tedium goes way beyond boredom.

I have so far disliked - and in some cases, hated - every Korean game I have tried, but at least they were all free!
