I haven't played shattered galaxy. I think they are going to have timers and such on hexes so that you don't loose your shit when you log out. I don't know what the plan is on it for real though.. just my guess. |

In shattered galaxy each map is connected to each adjacent territory, so to get to certain map areas your faction has to conquer a path to that area. Here is what the map looks like.
To conquer a location a faction invades and has to capture all the points of control before time runs out (defending faction just has to defend). After an area is conquered there is a grace period where no opposing faction can invade that territory for a short time (gives people time to refresh and heal up).
Oh something else about shattered galaxy I forgot to mention. Since no one can simply travel from one part of the map to the other, but need a clear path from control from their faction what players would do is if there was a big battle going on they would circle around the territory and try to conquer them in order to cut off support from the opposing faction. Anything like that in GA? |

From the time you've spent playing and with the new round of beta invites; what is the population break down across the classes? I would guess that Recon is choice of most players with its stealth and sniping abilities. With the possibility of the Medic being the least favored class since not everyone likes filling in the roll of the healer. |

Actually, Necro, the healer is insainly fun to play. It's not like the TF2 medic where all you have is the heal gun. There are other healing devices as well, such as the healing grenade - chuck it at a group of friendlies and they all get a little health and a HoT to boot.
The class spread this weekened was all over the place though, because for this phase of test all your characters were automatically max level. |

do you think the game will come out before 2010? |

I dunno, they said they're shooting to release by the end of the year, but they're more concerned about it being done rather than getting it out by a certain date. |

What are the incentives for controlling a hex? I mean, aside from saying 'hey, we own that hex,' does it come with any bonuses? |
|

from what I remember it's about resource control, controlling a hex allows you access to resources to craft enhancements for your gear.
Z, yea I figured, I rather it be that way anyways, just curious if they were on track to get out before 2010. |

On the spy-fi side of things, have you seen or done any espionage/covert activities as a double agent? Or has there not be enough time between testing phases to get that deep into player built agencies because everyone is just running around on a bloody rampage?
edit: Also, is there friendly-fire? Because in a large all-out battle at a critical choke point, FF can be a bad thing. Unless you are a double-agent >_< |

The double agent stuff Todd mentions in the video is more on the side of the player made agencies and doing something like telling the enemy what your agency is doing. The only double agent work you can really do is purposly throw a match I guess. There is no friendly fire. You can't actually stab people in the back as a means of betrayal. |

sounds sweet as a double agent even if you can't simply back stab them. i'm sure their will be more ways to do harm as a double agent, at least later on. Can you steal stuff? Like resources? I mean people would do it in WoW sometimes, get into a guild, gain enough trust that the leader grants the person more privileges and then they just hord everything and quit the guild. |

Yeah I could see that happening. |

Zukan has been testing a lot longer than i have, and has tested more features, but i dont see that happening. While HR has specifically said there will be ways to backstab your alliance/agency i dont see it coming in the form of stealing the bank. But you have to remember the pvp plays as a tactical tf2, so just getting on the other teams vent and saying 'we are headed to CP2' would pretty much wreck the offense. |

Just wanted to say to Zukan that we appreciate what you're doing here! Good job from KoV. |

Based on what I've seen about Global Agenda, it is basically an MMO with a great deal of competition. PvP, PvE, and AvA. It is the competition to become the best Agency. My question is, what other motivations are there for playing such a game? Obviously, the game doesn't revolve around a big story. Just the content written by Nathan Knaack. And, of course the setting of the world based on earth in the distant future. Are there any in-game cutscenes or story progression? |

Aside from the answer you'd get from a PR person, I heard talk that after each 45 day campaign the declared winning Alliance gets written into the history books.
There is a nice cut scene for the intro you can watch some of it here. |

How is the in game voice chat's quality, is it on par with third party programs like Ventrilo? Also, how is it affected by the occasional lag spike and zonning in/out of battle maps? |

GA has embedded TS3. That is to say it is ridiculously clear and stable. Not just because the game is at beta, but even compared to live games it's far and away the best i've used. |
