There have been better reviews of this game on this forum alone which I would not hope to better.

This 1 is the pick of the bunch...

http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/255145/My-FE-impression-after-a-week.html

What can I add,it is basically the 1st mmo in a very long time that I can be relaxed in,no need to be leveling when you login, just enjoy the game.

The help channel is great for new player's,also the fact that there is always a GM on line that not only help's but stop's anyone from disrupting the chat.

This game not only has a lot of potential but has released very well.

It will not be for everyone as it does not lead you by the hand,on top of that the crafting system(which I find great)is slow and make's up I think 95% of the in game items, you wont max the crafting in this game in a couple of days.

Is it a sandbox game?....no ..but it is very close to it.

Anyone that like's there mmo's to progress slow and need thought while doing so should try this game.

People that want to be top level and raid...should not.

I know not in depth but I think straight to the point, also the link to Darkpony's review give's you all the in depth you need.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Aren't Horizon Online and EVE online have the same thing?  All items are crafted by players in both games, so why would Fallen Earth is a fresh idea because items are made by players?

Its the atmosphere, the hugeness of the world and the combat system which makes Fallen Earth so unique and fresh to me. I played EVE but I just couldn't connect with my spaceship and the orbiting combat (although I loved the economy).

I agree, I have tried Eve on numerous occasions but no matter how I tried , just could'nt connect with the Spaceship as your character basically. I know Eve is a great game an really wanted to love but just could'nt.

With Fallen Earth I feel I have found the game I have been waiting for !

Ps ...  if there were real characters in Eve and you could Land on planets and stuff , then it would be the best Mmo on the Planet ! ( pardon the Pun)  :p

I absolutely love this game from day one and anyone who played SWG from beta up until sony decided to make it into a WoW clone would love this game.  MMO's need more of what the old SWG and Fallen Earth bring to the table.  By that I mean the requirement that you must "think" about how to do things.  From what I see in the official forums on upcoming patches though this may change as the tutorial is being updated.  We may have to see what this may do.

This game is the closest in feel to swg that I have played since the nge.  Yeah, it's not swg and there are differences, but something about this game takes me back to that time.  We have had so many class/level zoned games now that this game is like a cool drink of water while standing under the desert sun.  So very refreshing...

It's not for everyone though.  And that's okay; for those that don't like this type of game there are many, many others.

really thinking about getting this game.  blasted through champions online and i'd like something with a little more meat on it.  so far, this looks to be  bit more of a feast.

Got this game because I waited for them to fix the content gap in CO and a friend recomended it. I haven´'t played CO since. Things here are just better me.

Just be aware that things take time in this game, no instant gratification. On the other hand you are constantly rewarded by with small increases (no big jumps at lvl gains) and the game REALLY rewards you for good planning.

it looks a lot deeper than CO.  Don't get me wrong, CO was fun, but it was over way too fast.  Something slower might be what i need.

The game is just a huge quest grind with crap ping for most europeans... And developers dont seem to acknowledge the fact that their servers and bandwidth are not delivering

Actually they have addressed these issues and are working getting them fixed. As for the quest grind, well, you could always grind mobs for XP, or craft, or salvage. Or, you know, you could just stand there with no way to gain XP because they are all just "grinds".

i'd rather there be too many quests than not enough.

question to those playing the game.  what's the status on the UI and quest text and what not?  too big or too small?  customizable?  i ask because my vision's not the best and champions online had me squinting almost every time i had to read something.

The problem is that the quests are mandatory since they tied AP gain into the quests. So there really is no option than to quest.. ALOT

You don't need to do every AP quest everywhere just to be decent at the game. If you go through from 2-45 without searching for every single extra AP, you'll still have around 100 bonus AP at 45. Now, if someone wants to go out and spend the time and effort into finding and completing every AP quest and getting all the extras then they've earned the small advantage over the players who didn't because they spent the time to do it.

Thats pretty much the single thing that made me not to buy this game. Forcing you to do boring quests really killed it for me.

Then it's good news, since quests are absolutely NOT compulsory... whoever says this is obviously totally mistaken.

be it very short breath before one realizes how shallow the game gets for s2 and s3. A lot will not go past the 30 days included with the game.

I don't know about that. The game itself is rather a odd. If you're one of those type A personalities who wants to rush through everything to get to some mythical engame you won't enjoy it. There's nothing I can point to as being the killer feature. There's nothing really new or unusual. It's just a well made game that I enjoy playing.

In most games, you pick your class and maybe subclass, and then you get more powerful as you level and get your assigned abilities.  With FE though you are continually thinking about where you want to put your points and what kind of character you want to become.

I find I do not so much put my points in to become a particular 'class' but rather assign points based on need as I play the game, explore and discover different aspects that intrigue me.  So it' s a lot more open ended and I am always thinking about my character and how she is developing.  With the class/level games you can have skill trees, but it's just not the same as having the freedom that a game like  precu SWG or FE offers.  For me, that's a major hook.

This is exactly how I have been playing it assigning AP as different things become available in the game , I find the experimentation aspect of FE totally addicting ! So much so that I cant wait to make some more characters just to see how different builds flesh out.

When I said it was "a breath of fresh air" I did not say it was the 1st breath I had taken.

Yes there have been other game's that have been refreshing, though lately they are very few and far between.

Every game seems to be following the mold of ..dare I say it..."WoW" and all the big time devs have jumped on board and followed suit ..now here is an india dev that took a chance, built an engine from scratch and had a vision and followed the vision.

I am very much addicted to the game and that addiction grows every time I play it..

Like I said in my OP...is it for everyone?...no it is not, thats for sure.

Is it a breath of fresh air of us that have had to suffer the influx of "wow made money mmo's"

Indeed it is.

Short breath for you maybe.  I see a lot of folks in s2 and s3 that are having a blast, myself included. s4 and s5 close to done I really think your the minority in not sub'ing past the 30 days.
