Well, the way I see it, both US and Canada are in America, so the people that reside in those countries are, in fact, Americans.

However, drbaltazar, is Canadian and really has no idea how mixed up a US market is. As such, he should not be making comments on it.

Well, the way I see it, both US and Canada are in America, so the people that reside in those countries are, in fact, Americans.

However, drbaltazar, is Canadian and really has no idea how mixed up a US market is. As such, he should not be making comments on it.

As many times as it takes really, i bought the game with a word that you can fly in this game. Not that it was limited. I was hoping to look down onto the land below from mountian tops but no, you cant do that, becuase flying is limited.

It's because:

Or give the mobs ways to pull you down... its really that simple... besides it already is easy to get away from mobs i hate to break it too you. As a gladiator i just have to charge and do the stamina stigma.. gg.

Thats nonsense too. The flying was just as much as a feature that was touted as pvp was, heck alot of pictures show people flying as they fight. Not on the ground thinking of when a good time to fly would be. Theres reasons for skills like arial knockdown.

Touts it as a feature, yep. Limited or not, it's available and is vital in the Abyss, as well as a few quests, gathering Aether (sucks I know) etc. It is limited for the reasons that have been stated time and time again, some of which are below.

It's because:

Yep, and that feature is present, but limited. You really should take what you read on the box with a pinch of salt as it's always exaggerated.

Actually this is only one of the problem. If there were flying mobs than it would be different, but flying above all the mobs would render them irrelevant for the majority of people. Also you have to think about the amount you're going to have to grind if you complete quests that way. A lot of the exp people get is killing the mobs on the way to finishing the quest, and on the way back. Game was designed that way, so they didn't add more quests, or flying mobs, live with it.

Dude chill on the "don't tout it as a feature lol". I'm not defending NCsoft or any company that exaggerates its features (you need to realize it's advertising). You need to do your research. Don't tell me you bought the game based on the features it had on the box (who still does that is beyond me lol)? These are always exaggerated and are most of the time only partly right. With the game already out a year, I would have thoroughly researched about it.

Nah dude it's not non-sense, you understood wrong. You always have an eye on the flight meter, and it's while in flight that you need to think about all these stuff. Like it or not, in combat at least, the flight meter is an amazing addition and adds a different layer to flight combat.

Nope you're wrong, through gear, potions, food, artifact buffs, scrolls, runes, flight time could be increased by around 3-4minutes and there's an artifact that buffs you a full 5minutes flight time (in the abyss), and flight speed can be increased as well (which is even better).You can get 2 minutes just thanks to the wings alone without anything else at level 40.

Level 10 - One minute of flight(60 seconds).
Level 30 - +30 Seconds of flight time(90 seconds total).
Level 40 - +60 Seconds of flight time(120 seconds total).
etc. Plus with potions/equip/food/runes that increase flight time, you could get 3 to 4minutes.

Also you'll probably stack flight potions all the time, and once you get the +48secs flight time (on a 60sec cooldown timer) you can practically fly indefinitely. Going through abyss rings can help you in that as well.

You already mentioned the false advertisement in all your points earlier lol, you seem extremely bitter, I say chill and ALWAYS take what's on the box with a pinch of salt. Have you tried AoC? WAR? Aion's promised features are spot on compared to these 2. Even the flight is not really "wrong" per se, except that they didn't add the "limited" part lol. 

EDIT: After reading the features on the box (yep, my first time), they're so obviously exaggerated it's hilarious. How anyone bases his purchases on that is beyond me.

So basically your problem with flying is that "it touts it as a feature" and interpreted it wrong, or fully believed every single word written on the box. With the game already out a year, I would have thoroughly researched about it before buying it.

Not saying it's your fault or anything, however I do think that, concerning flying combat especially, limiting flight time adds a whole new dynamic to the game.
 

You be surprised how many people base their purchases off the box but in the end it doesn't matter.  Aion doesn't appeal to the masses, was never meant to appeal to the masses (no matter what NCSoft or anyone on this forum proclaims).  It's a niche game meant to appeal to a very specific subset of MMO players.  Debate that all you want but it is the truth.

Developers are supposed to say whatever they can to hype their own game.  The average MMO player (you know, the casual PvE type) will not play Aion.  Guess what, the PvP player, the one who enjoys that style of gameplay, is the minority in the playerbase.  The minority.  WoW has proven that to you a hundred times over.  Maybe over in Korea/Asia it's the dominate playstyle but not NA.  So far the only people I see that enjoy Aion are those that are looking for the same type of experience as UO/DAoC/EQ PvP. 

I totally agree with the OPs comments on the game. As soon as you get to the level 20+ area the grind slaps you right in the face and there is no getting around it. The massive drain on your money in the game forces to grind for money. The numerous quests that require you to collect ore and other vitality forces you to grind collection. Then of course the lack of quest XP. You run out of quests pretty fast and are forced to grind from level to level. Lets not even get started on trying to upgrade gear with stones or enchantments.

The short flight time was a huge disappointment to me as well. If I didn't have friends playing the game, I wouldn't have lasted more than a week on there. This game is as dry as they come. I was skeptical of the game before it came out, I played it in beta and saw some things I thought were interesting; but, it was obviously it needed some major work still to make it more acceptable to the play style of most US gamers.

Pretty much. It's sad too, i  wanted to like this game.

Whats worse though is that there are lots of reports of people that canceled thier accounts but are using the remaining days to bot and see how long it takes for them to get banned, even asking some people to report them. And, you guessed it, nothing happened. I'll try and see if i can find that link again...
