You don't "Fix" the botting and gold selling problem. You just don't, and everybody knows this. NCsoft has done a great job at banning/at least suppressing the spammers for the most part. And yes, I have been on to see the bullshit spamming every single day from 5 different hacking spammers constantly clogging the filters. You ban the spammers, they make new account and spam more. That or the spammers spam for a short period and reroll, spam for another short period. FYI, EVERYBODY saw this coming. That is why everybody would tell you that it is inevitable 3 months before it even released. NCsoft is like a platoon or marines in the congo rigorously fending off against hundreds and hundreds of oncoming geurilla fighters, barely holding out till tthey get their shit together. Cept in this case NCsoft needs to put in a new Anti-hack program. Some people only talk sh!t online. I'll talk sh!t online and i'll say it to your face. |

People can talk as much they want. It's a positive move after all the talk that NCsoft will never take action against boters. For the first time i haven't seen a boter in Morheim till now, i will check at midnight and report any remaining if any.
As for Proxies, its still working for me using Gamepath. According to what i read they only banned the 'Login' Ip, you can still use a proxy to connect to the game-servers, a workaround is already available.
While there are certainly a few mistakes in the banning process, those banned should contact support. Those who got banned for receiving Kina will probably get unbanned. But the initial ban should scare them enough to be more careful when seeking to acquire gold (whether from friends/guild or a goldseller).
All in all, its a necessary evil if such a word even exists.

Not only that but the spam and botting is still there, strong as ever. People PAY for a service and will be pissed when it's denied without a reason. The pro botters don't care, they've made their money and will just be rolling new accounts on stolen cards. Perhaps you should take your own advice. Seems you need it. |

That doesnt have anything to do with anything we are discussing in this thread. We are all dumber because of your response you are awarded no points and may whatever you choose to believe in have mercy on your soul. This is a message to the general populace of MMORPG.com as it is literally a black hole of fun that once you are swallowed up by, it is very hard to escape and makes everything in gaming a little less fun. Best thing you can do is do your own research and stop reading these boards because nothing will ever be good enough and everything will suck always forever if it makes its way into a discussion here. |

id point out that if you are being banned they dont want you back and dont care if you know why or not. Originally posted by Carl132p Still, you can never protest if they don't tell you what you did wrong. People do make misstakes sometimes and wrong people can and will get banned. You bought the game and at least deserves to know why you were banned even if you did in fact break the EULA. |

Screw the people who got banned. They know EXACTLY why they got banned. I love that game and for weeks its been riddles with spammers and bots; and little loudmouth kids. ban them all !! |

Just going with, "If you were banned, you automatically deserved to be" is pretty naïve. This happened when WAR started their crusade against gold spammers, too. Plenty of innocents, i.e. guild leaders who received a lot of gold (by asking for small amounts from different members) being banned because that huge influx of gold all at once could mean only one thing, right? They bought gold! Oh, wait... How easy is it to send an email? Whip up a standard, "You have been banned because you have been suspected of buying/selling gold, which goes against Aion's ToA. If you wish to appeal this ban, please contact Customer Support." |

i didnt anything about nc soft being good im just pointing out that in any case of banning from any company they dont have to tell you why. If they ban you they already have accepted the loss of subscription and do not care what you did. And by the way its annoying when people take one instance such as the guild leader and assume it happened lots of times to beef their argument up.
Im looking at this from a law standpoint as opposed to an ethical standpoint. All the fruitless moaning seems like reaching for anything to cry about from here. But then this forum has destroyed all hope for any good discussion to ever go on. imma keep this guys name written down, because if he gets banned on accident like others, i bet he'll be here in a heartbeat screaming about it. We are all ignorant until truth is revealed to us.. However.. How do we know the truth is not in fact a lie.. "When a man has lost everything, he may despair and die. He might give his soul to the fate's... or, he can resolve to take action." "The great thing about human language is that it prevents us from sticking to the matter at hand." |

I would hope they would care about wrongful bannings, because if not word will spread like wildfire about how NC treats legit customers and it'll start to hurt them bad. Originally posted by Carl132p They don't have to, but since when have people been honored for what they HAD to do? Usually, it's for what they chose to do. Above and beyond the call of duty, right? Well, whipping up an email in 5 seconds isn't much work, is it? It's something NCSoft can easily do that will improve customer relations. Why wouldn't they? And why are you defending that decision? As for "one" incident... it's still the same thing that happened in WAR. Well, actually, not really. WAR defeated gold buyers by making the economy weak... which, of course, drew plenty of complaints from players. If it's so easy to make money from quests/vendors, the AH prices don't matter. You're not tempted to buy gold to get that really nice item, because you know gold is so easy to earn, it's not worth breaking the rules to illegally obtain it. I'm not sure what the economy is like in Aion, but if people are buying gold, then gold is not easy enough to earn. Is that good or bad? Depends. If you like earning your keep, then it's good, but the negative aspect shows as well: the lazy are too tempted to buy gold. I honestly think no company will truly eliminate gold sellers, so the influence will always be there. You have to give players the benefit of the doubt. If you start swinging the banhammer willy-nilly, yes, you may get some people who applaud you, but you also smack a lot of innocents in the face at the same time. |
