Not everyone that got banned were botters and gold spammers.

 Except for the fact that there are still bots running around, and most of the people that were banned appear to be completely legit users (one of them was a brand new account with a lvl2 character on it...)

Now the possible 400k subs in the NA/EU are has gone down to umm 200k now ? Oh and its a great way to reduce queue times as well. NCsoft totally botched this game already. Bad enough its a repeat of what we had years ago.

Thank them for what?  The let the problem fester for 2 weeks due to lack of GMs and then do a mass ban without emails taking many that have no clue what they did wrong.  

Yeah great move.  In 5 days it'll be like it was yesterday.  The bots will be back.  The buyers will be there, the sellers will be there and the legit players will be pissed and gone.

Can't agree more with you, shouldn't they have already had this fixed before the launch in America, i mean it was out in Korea for over a year....shouldn't be a problem to them. I'm really suprised that they didn't see this coming, or that they did see this coming and didn't chose to do anything. 

It seems that, like myself, most of the players banned today are those of us that used the ingame mail system to transfer kinah, drops or mats between our alt characters instead of using the very limited storage space.  Also, several of the legion officers that were ones responsible for handling and keeping track of legion member donations of kinah for leveling up legion and also storage and dispersment of mats and crafted gears to legion members also got banned.  APPARENTLY, ONE OR MORE OVERZEALOUS NOOB GMs MISUNDERSTOOD MAIL TRANSFERS OF INGAME GOLD AND ITEMS AS BEING CONNECTED WITH "RMT OPERATORS" AS aion_ayase calls it.  To do something like this at the beginning of a weekend is likely going to cost NCsoft at least 10% of it's subscribers and slow new subscriptions to a crawl, as dependant as MMOs are upon gaing new subscribers from friends of current players.

They are even banning proxies indefinately and stopepd new creation of characters temporary.

Leave it to NCSoft to screw up the banning process....

I don't get where people are finding this release date saying its been out for over a year. Everything I found says November 25 2008. So from that date it hasen't even been out a year.  Well there are 2 things you can do to try and prevent gold sellers. 

1. Ban the sellers and buyers.

2. If you can't beat them sell the gold yourself and still ban people that buy from the 3rd party gold sellers and the companies themselves. That way you still getting rid of them and the devs  are  making more money.

Now the problem with 2 is people that normally might not buy gold will because its no longer illegal. But lets face it there will always be people buying and selling gold. I wonder if there is a way devs can start suing the pants off all these gold seller companies? Blizz sued for that glider bot shit so why don't they go after the gold sellers. Somebody needs to make an example of these gold sellers and show them whats up.

The ban INCLUDED THOSE WHO PURCHASED GOLD from gold spammers as well.

But the proxy ban affects us for no reason, now my friend and i cant even log into game...

are u still using the proxy trying to get on? try without it and if it still doesnt work email ncsoft support reply usually comes in like 1-5hrs rofl

 Thank God I decided to wait on buying this game. Maybe I can test it out when it gets into the .99 cent bin in about 6 months... wewt!

 Additionally, they seem to have banned everyone but the bots. I saw at least three of them tooling around just a few minutes ago.

Yet somehow they missed the one gold seller/power leveler that is the most annoying on the EU server my other half plays on. I logged on with a random character to take a look, and this new character got spammed by someone I blocked over a week ago with a different character.

And also, its important to say that many of this whiners were probably using botting softwares... but offcourse, they are always innocent in jails right?

Plus, many ppl that had account banned were also guilty of buying gold, and dont shit me... if you get 2 or 3 Millions kinah on the mail after the game been launch in 2 or 3 weeks there are little chances they were made legally by a "friend".

They are not stupid, and only idiot people seem to believe that a company with the experience of NCSoft would ban perfectly legal accounts with no reason just to loose subscription fees... grow up, if they ban someone and lost their income there is become they know theres a real reason to ban.

Now, did it solve it completely? Ofc not, there are still some bots and gold sellers, but certainly no one expects this to be solved in a week or two... the things are running, thats what matters
