For the first time in my life, I think I'm leaving Lineage 2 for good (because of swiftly declining population, bot and cheater problems which destroys any PvP competition). As a result, I am looking for a new game to play. Here are my requirements: |

AION
Played: |

|
Fallen Earth!
|
|
|
Eve -------- The most awesomest after school special T-shirt: |

Dark age of camelot. |

You have to be sadistic to suggest Aion, in case ya didnt know Aion and Lineage 2 are both ncsoft games. The same cheaters and botters are leaving Lineage 2 in order to go cheat and bot in Aion, the games current clean state wont last since there is allready a bot for Aion its only a matter of time before it becomes as widely used as l2superman, l2walker or l2.net. 2nd I take it that you have never played Lineage 2 where the castle sieges have involved hundreds of players, a big difference from the smaller battles you come across in Aions abyss. I'm not knocking Aion it is a good game I play it because of that but be realistic and atleast try to recommend to the op what they want instead of just spitting out crap to pimp off the current game your playing. |

AION tower of eternity. |

He wants meaningful PvP - his options are limited - especially since he cut out WAR. Darkfall would fit the bill - but it's pretty terrible (with an emphasis on terrible) - but has the generic idea of his requirements. Maybe FE? |

darkfall is based on a player driven world, massive pvp and small pvp battles. but its nothing like other MMO's, really different, you might dislike it, or like it :). i wouldnt suggest Aion, as its a bit like lineage 2 setting, if you get what i mean... fallen earth ain't my type of game, its not bad, but the pvp could be better in my opinion, even tho it has pvp towns where you fight for your faction, which is a nice feature :) |

Darkfall.
And dont listen to carebears telling you one thing or another, DF is by definition the best and perhaps only real pvp game around. |

EVE is your game. 1) There are massive fleet battles in 0.0 for control of free space and the resources it contains. Alliances rise and fall every day, and you could help build an empire if that's your goal. There are smaller objectives as well, including running a merc corp for hire and fun, piracy and a host of other options. 2) While you will hear many charges of cheating, CCP actively works to eliminate it and few people feel the game has a signicant cheating problem. 3) You will find no better player run economy than in EVE, every ship you see, and many of the better modules are all made by players and no where else. 4) EVE's population remains strong, and with upcoming changes like the new Dust514 tie in, changes to 0.0 and the mythical ambulation project, EVE appears to have no where else to go but up. (and we only have one universe, never have to worry about being on a "dead" server. Fun is round the clock too. 5) Then put down your broadsword and jump into your pod and prepare to burn your opponents down with lasers, missiles, projectile cannons and railguns. Couple that with ship reparing, energy draining, tracking disruption, target lock breaking and a host of other combat roles and you've got a great PVP experience. But I'll warn you, EVE's not for everyone. Learning curve is steep, if you play the early game incorrectly you'll think its boring and you'll miss out on a great experience. You have to be patient and willing to learn to play EVE. For those who are, its the right place to be.

And don't listen to the fan boys.
But - it fails to deliver. It's made by a tiny indie company and there's no polish, graphics are terrible as well as animations, clunky as all get out, the combat is terribly, terribly flawed. Not to mention all the bugs/hacks/cheaters/macroers. Maybe some people can stand some of that crap - I can look by graphics usually - just not all of that combined. Combat was enough for me though. |

I would suggest EvE but you have to consider the amount of time it will take to skill up to be competitive enough to even fly into low sec. It's a great game and has everything you could want from a sandblox MMO with massive scale PvP and small scale PvP. As long as you don't mind a learning curve and the fact it's a little time consuming to get to fly the better ships and compete. 1 good thing though is you can queue skills in your training queue and go do whatever for 1 day or whatever and it will train your skills while your offline.
Also, Darkfall would be at least something i would tell you to try and make your own decision about. I heard about the imporvements for this game and the NA server is now available. I have lots of friends who went back after the big patch release and the NA server release but quickly close there account again, saying they should have never resubbed.
Either way it's up to you to decide, just because people tell you DF is this or that doesn't matter, if you look the game up and think it's worthy of trying go for it but be prepared to deal with some of the same issues as L2.

And how exactly was it flawed? Is this a serious question? I cannot tell tbh... I apologize if you're being serious. When you walked into any player city and went into the keep - you'd hear a mass spam of AFK macroers casting mana missles over and over and over to raise their skill. Yeah - how is that not flawed? Get good at something by being AFK? Took a lot of hard work right there. Reminds me of the SWG entertainers who just make macro of all of their flourishes and go AFK and come back max level a day later.
That's just one, tiny example. Like he said - the intentions are great - but were not executed well at all due to being a tiny indie company who either a) didn't have the resources or b) didn't think things through well enough. The general idea was right though. |

The skill gain when magic/melee/archery is used against monsters has been upped X6. The grind is gone and people are not macroing anything anymore since its just easier to hunt monsters for loot and 6 times the xp.
Next complaint? |

How about the graphics/textures? How about the animations? I honestly think EQ1 has better animations and graphics than DF (no joke) and that's pre-Luclin. Naked zergs? Should I go on? |

What is wrong exactly with the combat, I dont know where to begin when you are so vague The graphics/textures were designed (especially player models) to be loaded up fast on any computer to support massive battles. Want AoC graphics that support 49 vs 49 or battles like DF's Yssam battles with roughly 2000 people on the island at the same time fighing, with 300 vs 300 clusters all around eachother?
Yes I thought so too.
The animations - give me a break they updated them since release, but there are things about carebears and animations that I find appaulling. Naked Zergs? Who were you fighting newbs at the starter towns?
Yes go on I am having great fun with this.
EDIT:
Darkfall combat - best combat in any mmorpg by far especially after 1:30

And how exactly was it flawed? I don't know. How about the auto-loot macro? What about being able to hack so you can walk through walls and solid objects? It were those things that caused me to unsub and from the original post, I don't think that that is what the OP wants either.
