So I played Darkfall for a few weeks when it launched, this was before they released the NA servers (I live in the US) so I am curious, will I be able to transfer my character over or do I have to purchase a whole new NA client? How does this work? |

Transfers are going to be free for the first month. The only step you'll need to take is to purchase a NA subscription. |

The language used suggested you only had to pay for a months sub for the NA server. Still waiting on specifics which is needed with AV. |

If you currently don't have any subscription to Darkfall then its going to be really easy for you to transfer. All you need to do is go to the website and subscribe for one month to the US server. You will then be able to transfer your character over to the US server. We don't know if you will need to download the US version of the client, but you wont need to buy the US client. If you are subscribed to the EU server your EU subscription wont carry over. So say you have 2 weeks left on your EU sub when you want to transfer, you will still need to go buy a sub for the US server before you can transfer your char. Sure you waste your last couple of weeks worth of sub on EU, but at least you will have lower ping :-). Or I guess you could wait until your EU sub runs out and then transfer. |

Does anyone know if a person will need an active EU subscription to transfer as well? It's quite obvious that a person will need to have an active NA subscription to be able to transfer your EU character to the NA server... but I haven't seen if it's also necessary to have an active EU subscription in order to initiate the transfer process.
Edit: Now that I've re-read Kazamx's post (right above this one) it appears the answer is no. Good to know. |

Well since Kazamax must work for Av to know the details that no one else knows, maybe he can give us a little hint of what is coming in the Oct "expansion"? |

Really, the only question that isn't answered is whether or not you need to have an active EU subscription in order to qualify for the transfer. I hope that's not the case, since it would require players to resub to EU for 1 month as well as sub to NA, effectively doubling the subscription cost for one month. I'd like to see this question officially addressed, ~Ripper |

The part I high-lighted in red in your response is what I'm trying to find out as well.
I am glad to see that Aventurine is offering a 1 month no transfer fee from EU to NA. Little things like that go a long ways in my book. Granted, I still have issues with Aventurine as a whole; and Tasos specifically. It does look like a step in the right direction from my point of view though. |

I agree. Frankly, I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the news coming out recently. I'm taking a "wait and see" approach, however. ~Ripper P.S. On a side note, Mr. White's avatar is great! |

MMOs require more reasoning and imagination than most stereotypically ''adult'' activities. |

Heh. Duly noted. Make no mistake; I am still firmly entrenched in the skeptical camp as well.
I still have hopes that DarkFall may yet become what I thought they would be. I'm willing to give them credit for items that I deem to be a positive direction. As is always the case though... the devil is in the "details" (implementation).
