Aion could be an awesome game, IF they would do something about the bots and gold spamming.  But apparently NCSoft has a deal with the gold-spammers that goes something like "Pay our monthly fee and we'll look the other way while you flood the channels with spam and flood the servers with farming bots."

Then they posted a message claiming that they are banning spammers.  Really?  Then why are the spammers using the exact same characters that they were using last week to spam me?  I cleared a few out of my block list, and within minutes they were whispering the same spam to me... days later!  NCSoft can clain all they want that they have GMs actively monitoring chat and banning spammers, but it's pretty obvious that they're not doing it on MY server!

I can't report bots in game.  When I try to use it I'm told I can't do that at this time.

Submit a ticket to the support website?  Sure, and maybe hear back from someone in a week.

So, no... NCSoft is not taking any action to stop the spam or the bots.  The result is the in-game economy is never going to be viable.

Don't bother buying this game, because NCSoft doesn't care about your in-game experience.  Buy the box and they're happy.  Soon most of their monthly subscription fees are going to be from farming bots and spammers!  Maybe the gold sellers will buy gold from each other after the players are gone.

 

They ARE making steps to fix it if you were paying attention at all

 

All I see here is another QQ post of someone quitting. All I have to say is don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Its not crying, it sounds a lot like this person has legit concerns and a legit reason for leaving. He is annoyed and frusterated with an aspect of the game. You however sound a lot like a fanboy. If he doesnt see any reason to quit then he should be able to quit without you hounding him for it. He should also be able to get on a forum and post his said concerns without you hounding him for them as well. No i dont know this person and no I dont play Aion or WoW or any Sword and Sorcery competitor for that matter. I'm just using common sense and reading other people saying very similar things from what the OP said. So it's obviously a problem in the game, you need to chill and stop being rude just because someone doesnt like what you like.

I just fail to understand how someone who doesn't like the game will just come in and say "Im quitting"... and then not expect flaming responses.

I don't care if he likes what I like but Im very sick and tired of reading every second post of "QQ - I don't like this game and blah blah". Seriously the MMO community is the absolute WORST in terms of this. If tears could be re-used for gasoline, we could drive cars for the next 100 years off this site alone.

Gold spam is a bad reason to recommend people not buying Aion.

Since as far as I can tell, it happens in every game.  Especially when the game is new.

Before game was out.  There were so many posts about this game IN THIS VERY FORUM, so there is no excuse for people who have been reading and posting in this website to claim that they HAVE NO IDEA Aion is like this.  So, either stop whining and quit the game already, or go to troll in other forum please.

Lol I agree OP. Just some of the fanbois are wearing their rose tented glasses. They could banhammer their accounts but they dont, they do thier chars. It would cost them more to rebuy the game otherwise and they wouldnt spam the channels as they do. Could NCsoft be in on it somehow. Perhaps, perhaps not. No one knows but them.

The funny part is i came across the stark realization that my crafting grinding would be meaningless as i grinded for more money to fund it, the obvious thought occured to me, "well if they are spamming so much they must be selling some gold" then "what would people do with so much gold, people easily get drops to replace most armor"

then it hit me... "they are using that gold to power level their crafting skills, they have to be.." then i thought about how much of the AH has stuff sold by gold farmers and cringed. My grinding smithing became meaningless and not worth it.

So yeah... gg Aion gg...

Last night I saw on one single spot, one single channel already more then 10 Kinah Farming bots farming their merry way. All with names like djmQFX, jkFL, Jeasd, etc, etc. All gladiators, no title, no legion, yada yada yada.

These frigging farming bots are already flooding the broker with insane amounts of loot. Loot that suppose to be rare and hard to get!

They are already heavily impacting the game and completely ruining the ingame economy.

If NCWest hasn't done anything within two weeks when my first 30 days run out. I cancel and I'm out!

If it was a pure PVE game I could be as half annoyed as I am now.

But AION is a highly competitive game. So these frigging botters (As there are plenty of so called legit players, even in legions, botting as well) get a unfair and very high advantage over everyone else! They farm insane amounts of kinah. They are high level much faster and so able to farm AP like mad before everyone else. Buy the best PVP gear before everyone else and so be able to stomp and dominate everyone else in PVP.  Wich is pretty much already happening on some servers. Where complete Legions botted their way up and were capturing fortresses within a week already!!

Everyone who has played Lineage 2 knows how it can get out of hand. It's one of the worst games there is, completely in control of the botters.

What I would suggest to NCSoft is only allowing whispers from those on your friends list.

As for botting - reduce rewards when staying in the same area for extended times. You could also only reward questing (at a higher than current rate).

That won't work as the game isn't designed for that.

First there aren't enough quests. Later on, it's even mostly repeatable (shitty) quests.

The Campain quests are okay and very fun. But there are too few of them to support this idea.

The only way to effectivily kill botting is removing XP from mobs and only reward through Quest XP.

But then they will have to add a ton more quests to the game and up the XP you get per quest.

As this is ofcourse not gonna happen. It's an Asian MMO afterall.  The only way to combat the bots is immediate hard / no remorse action and insta ban all of them!

Wich isn't happening and probably never will....... or when it's way too late and the game already tanked.

I am getting fed up with people just making 10 or 20 levels and then start raving there is no grind in this game.

Everyone who has been long enough around knows that the REAL grind starts after level25 - 27 and that you will have to grind 80-90 % of your bar to level up at the higher levels.

And it's not only XP we are talking about here. These bots also farm insane amounts of loot  and dump them on the broker, that suppose to be rare and hard to get through LEGAL intended play.

I also played on Chinese server and it was version 1.1 which had even less quests and I leveled up w/o any problem.  So, what's your excuse again???  You are just a RACIST.

that's right I know because I DID NOT grind at all. LOL! Nice try. I play a chanter and died maybe three times so far. Dead penalty isn't that harsh at all as some people whine about.

People forgot about how EQ1 and how EQ2 was around launch. Now those were harsh deathpenalties, shared XP debts when in group and long corpse runs.

And when you die yo don't lose any XP, you go to the soul healer and poop. you got your XP back. Just costs some coin.

But we are derailing the topic. As it's about the insane botting and spamming that's going on.

You didn't read the post, either.  You only recover part of xp, not 100%.

Your Quitting because of one small reason? you have a block spam button, use it. takes a second to right click on a name and press enter. I havnt seen many farm bots yet i dont think, might change though...
