Final Fantasy XIV Director Hiromichi Tanaka spoke to Game Watch recently and revealed that the beta for FFXIV will be PC only. The beta will begin with about 10,000 testers and slowly ramp up as it eventually opens to the public. According to Tanaka, the beta could be in full swing by Summer 2010. Via Joystiq. So they probably will put another few months on that date and it'll get released by the end of 2010. That's about a full year from now. Time enough for testing I would say.

There attention to detail gets better and better all the time, Its bound to be a prety impressive game. I though this was being released in the same year as Final Fantasy XI And oh wow.. It's almost 2010. Seriously? Spring 2010 release please! I don't want to get older :( I want to play when I'm still young and vibrant.
