bro, its an asian grindfest what was Lineage's lvl cap? what's ragnarok's level cap? there are some people in my guild that i've seen on pretty much all the time, that are just now hitting 40.....
i understand defending it, because you like it a lot... but be real I like the game myself not the pve, grind fest.. but the actual game |

Saying another "crappy Asian MMO" is not really a bad thing. It isn't racist, it's generalization of what a culture generally likes. Most Asian MMOs are "grindfests" or what have you, that's just what comes out of there. Generalization isn't always bad, as long as you use it properly. Just like most Western MMOs (Europe/North America) are quest-driven games.

You are right... leveling for a year to max level and leveling for 2 months to max level is EXACTLY the same thing... WoW is a grindfest by your logic as well I presume? If not - I'm going to rofl... in fact, every MMO is a grind fest, even something like Guild Wars that takes you literally 10 hours to get to max level... why is it a grind fest? Because - what do you do after cap? You likely grind for skills... or you grind for ectos.... or you grind for 15k Armor... or 1 mil armor (whatever its called - its been a while)... and yes, you PVP... which, what's really the difference?
Such rubbish on these forums... swear the posts are getting worse by the day. |

I m not going to go on to why I dislike Aion, because it could take awhile. I will say this, easily the top 3 of boring games I ve played ever. The combat is so boring to me I couldn t handle logging in after 10 levels. I did however try and try again but I couldn t take it anymore, so I cancelled and deleted it off my hardrive. |

You are right... leveling for a year to max level and leveling for 2 months to max level is EXACTLY the same thing... WoW is a grindfest by your logic as well I presume? So far the fun factor is high (queue time waiting excluding), so I'll keep on playing. Besides, due to origin, there plenty of great stuff incorporated to the game, art style and combat feel included. In comparison, "western" developed MMOs feel sterile (what's wrong with having a sexy looking avatar?) and the combat is usually a hit and miss approach, especially melee (like swinging a feathered stick instead of a sword). What's perceived as "asian" style gameplay, aka grind, is actually a direct copy of the EQ gameplay. This time they followed the EQ2 gameplay. NCsoft and EQ developers seem to share quite a few ideas, if you read the press about it. Even the keybinding is directly derived from EQ2. |

I have to type this big because I said the same thing so many times and people just can't seem to understand on this issue.
Grind or no Grind is personal choice, Aion does offer either Quest grinding (personally, I don't think quests are grinding), Solo grinding, or group grinding. You just CAN NOT pvp to lvl up like Warhammer.
Quests are like many other MMO, the same old style. Go to kill XX mobs and collect YY items.
All these have been posting on this forum prior to the game release, so by posting this topic like the 100th times is not offering any new information to the new players.
If you hate this game so much and you hate all those so called "Grind Fest", you should have known it before you purchased the game. Now people are saying "They are canceling the account" either they are lying or just not even playing this game at all. Reason is "If you already know about this website and you actively posting here, there is no way that you have no idea this is a "GRINDING GAME TO YOU"

Bro, it doesn't matter what lineage or Ragnarok's level cap is because that's irrelevant. The fact remains that those two games required up to a year of dedicated playing to reach the cap. |

i don't disagree i like aion too, i don't like the grind in aion i'm not from WOW, unless you count the first month of release.... and i saw the game for what it was.. and I'm seeing Aion for what it is the thing that seperates the two, is the pvp seems like its a bunch better then WoW ever had a chance to be.... not sure what I'm doing with this game yet... gonna play it for the "free 30 days" |

no you are correct, i don't prefer "theme park" mmos but this mmo is a theme park that drops you off and tells you the next ride isn't for hours from now, chill and kill these repetative mobs until your tall enough to go on the ride |
