Very interesting Video Interview, the microtransactions might break it for some players. |

anyone who gets turned off by a free game with optional micropayments was just looking to pick faults anyhow. |

Where this micro-transaction information comes from? I was watching EVE fanfest stream and don't remember there was a word about it. |

Considering they already rate the game as XBOX and PS3 even though platform still wasn't officialy confirmed... |

They did say microstransaction on the fanfest, it was a response to the most common complaint on the forums about dust "I don't want to pay another subscription". For more details they said something about using microtransactions to buy weapon blueprints. Each blueprint enabling you to make several thousand copies of the weapon. "Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason." |

Can you link your source? I made an effort but can't find any CCP quote or anything official. |

Couldn't care less about another unofficial article. So far I was unable to find a single quote or resource of CCP representative talking about micro-transactions. |

Microtransactions When DUST launches, it will use a microtransaction based revenue model. Players will, of course, have to buy the game at retail, but as DUST’s Atli Már Sveinsson said in the game’s press presentation, “We still have to pay for servers and such.” Knowing that microtransactions of any kind can cause heated debate amongst players, the developers were quick to point out that they do not intend to put any item up for sale that would allow players to “buy win.” While the full details are being fleshed out, and any specific information in this area is subject to change, the plan at this point is to make items like blueprints available for purchase. Players who may be concerned that others will be able to purchase items without having earned them will be pleased to know that the company plans to implement a system wherein players have to unlock the right to purchase certain things so that it all comes out on the level.

I can support CCP's vision of DUST 514 for the console with a store with how they are suggesting it will run on my PS3. What really rocks is how this influences planetary interaction in Eve after Dominion is launched for Dust 514. I see alot of fun times ahead for Eve. And finally we will get incarna. I also see a movie in Eves future. To me CCP is what Lucas Arts shoud have been. |

This post fails, hugely. FPS games are more stable over XBL and PSN, are you for real? Go play a round of TF2 and get back to me... |

Depends what you consider stable. To me, the consoles stream line the whole finding matches and grouping with players experience. I love the XBL network. Greatly improved over time. |

I am so glad you brought those two games up because they perfect examples. CoD4 I always got laggy servers, always. I have a kick ass cable connection and there was no excuse. I almost never found a match that wasn't laggy, never mind I couldn't pick the server I played on, what map I wanted ect. Not to mention pc users get the maps for free... I sold my copy on ebay and got it for pc and never looked back since. Halo3 on the other hand I mostly found stable non laggy servers, but I frequently got stuck playing matches were either half my team or half the other team quit before the match was over and ruined it, because no one can join a match after it started. I really really like sandtraps, my fav map. For the first week that map ran all the time, then every one got sick of it and voted against it every time it came up. Can I pick to play on a sandtraps only server with xbox live? No, I can host one with my friends, but I would be lucky to get a 16 man match more than once every 3 weeks or so. If it was a pc game I could play on a sandtraps only server 24/7. This bring me to my biggest gripe. I can't play halo3 online any more with out buying map packs. I went to go play a few round about 5 months ago, and I found almost every online game mode except DM was unavailable to me because I never bought a map pack. You might enjoy xbl, but it's nothing compared to online pc gaming. Nothing. Go try some TF2, L4D, CSS, UT3, Crysis Wars, BF2, or even quake arena and get back me...
