What's an athiest?

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

This topic is obviously not going to turn into a flame war.

I put other as I'm an ignostic. I think most people who put atheist down are actually probably more ignostic than atheist.

I'm agnostic most of the time but I do get a little Jesus freaky/Bible thumpy but only when the situation calls for God to be a scapegoat in a good or bad way and other people are doing it.

I believe the earth was made so that god could get new bumper sticker ideas.

edit: should I capitalise that 'G' or not?

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

I know what you mean.

When someone is in need of assistance due to a tragedy I just tell them that I'll pray for them.  It's much easier than actually getting up and helping.

Praying = doing nothing without the guilt.

I thought the toilet was funny... others may give it more meaning. *sigh*

He/she/it is the one in conflict with the hero: a major character in a book, play, or movie whose values or behavior are in conflict… god the ignorance on these forums amazes me.

I'm an agnostic leaning very heavily towards atheism. That said, in the end, if there is no proof and it cannot be proven, I simply do not care. I put myself up for atheist because that's the way I'd call myself, however, I can never say with complete certainty that there is no God or anything like it; that'd be giving myself too much credit. My girlfriend is very Christian (although she's doing a minor in both genetics and evolutionary biology; she's not a creationist), and I very much respect her beliefs.

Also gets your out of those sticky emotional situations that you really care little about; or relieves you from having to feel guilty that your glad it didn't happen to you.

Other. I'm not a christian but I play one on TV.

TORT REFORM: I am in favor of "settlement panels". Easy for the judge to look at a "best practice" settlement per offense. Who needs litigation when we can save time and money by cutting out the middle man through "comparative effectiveness"?

Christian.  But not an evangelical one.
