  Something similar happened to me, but in WoW. You have to call in and explain what happened, or else they will ignore you. If they still ignore you, then contact your bank/credit card company and file a complaint in an attempt to get the charges reversed, since you paid for a service that they should be providing you with; monetary things are really the only ones that catch their attention.

  Sometimes helpful sites contain malicious keyloggers, which could provide the person on the receiving end with your user name and password.  Firefox running NoScript is usually the best precaution to take though.

My account gets jacked, they use it to sell their Kinah and advertise their site, NCSoft bans it.

and i said Aionarmory.com could potentially be the reason because that is the only site i've been to besides the official Aion site. but i got an email from NCSoft saying i got banned for selling Kinah and in-game items. so if my account is hacked and then they use it to promote their site, that's exactly what it will be banned for. so im just trying to warn others to be careful.

Safeguarding the account is YOUR responsibility. If someone jacks is and sells gold it is no different from you selling gold from the account. There is no way to separate that from the what actually happened.

Every gold seller in the world will claim that their account has been hijacked.

From NCSoft's point of view that's how it will be looked at, but that doesn't change the fact that i am not the gold seller. If i wasn't home and my dog dug a hole under the fence and bit someone. logically how is it my fault? any person in their right mind would see that i am not to blame.

It sucks because gold sellers probably don't even go to forums and talk to people about what happened. if i were a gold seller i would be selling gold right now. why would i sell gold anyway? do you realize how little money gold sellers make? i couldnt make the $15 i pay a month for the damn game.

Yeah just call them up man, Companies ban people wrongly all the time, i had some friends have that happen in WoW when blizz did one of their massive ban sweeps.  they called up blizz and got it fixed up with an apology and some free time.  Just ignore the NC fanbots, they can't seem to believe a company could ever make a mistake.

Did you buy your CD key from ANYWHERE other than Steam or the official NCSoft site? They have banned people who bought their CD keys from specific websites and those people will not be unbanned, according to NCSoft.

Some MMORPGs (like WoW) are able to check the names of websites you currently have opened in a browser while you run WoW, and compared those names with that on a blacklist of theirs.

Anyway, about the op:
There are three possibilities what happened. Either you did something that deserved a ban (according to NCsoft that is, not necessarily according to you). In that case... well, then you just deserved it.

Or your account was "hacked" (meaning you chose an insecure password, gave it away, or were naive enough to reply to phishing emails and went to insecure websites about that game). In that case, your naivity did cost you a bunch to have you learn a lesson. Which means you didn't really deserve it but on the other hand it was your fault to some degree.

Or it was simply a mistake and you were collateral damage in NCsofts hunt on goldspammers. In that case, contact them, phone them, email them or whatever. They are not interested in banning innocent people either since that only results in unhappy customers and a bad reputation which they surely don't want.

If its any consolation, ignore the "you must have screwed up/ bought gold/ got reported " trolls. It does happen. I had same situation with sony . Got in to find my Vanguard account banned. Contacted them, and was told I had been selling gold on my everquest 2 account. Informed them that my eq2 account had been closed for 18 months. they investigated and apologised as they found a number of accounts had been hacked. as has been said, best to contact nc soft. good luck.

I would really like to emphasize this, as it seems to be the most likely at this point. I'm not saying you did anything wrong, some people buy CD keys at other places that ARE legit. There were a few sites selling cheaper than NCSoft and they decided to ban all those keys. You can dispute it with the website you bought from, which I would do. I haven't seen you reply to this thread in a bit but please let us know if you bought your key anywhere else, as this is the most likely case.

It is sad that you won't get your account back, but you can get your money back.

Now I know not to ever leave my game sitting at the character selection screen.

Am I missing something or is this an admission of being the seller in a RMT transaction?  I'm not sayin... I'm just sayin...  This can be interpreted as an admission of RMT.  The gold spammers maybe just have a more recognizable form of advertisement.  Spamming or no spamming, if one did partake in RMTs and RMTs is against the EULA, that would deserve a ban.

Being at the char select screen I'm sure had nothing to do with it.  It was probably just a coincidence that the banning happened during an unusually long time in the char select screen.  I think that part is just pure coincidence.

Personally, I think you're one of the ones that went to that website I shall not name that was keylogging folks.  Even if you were, I wouldn't hold it against you because seems quite a few did and as much as some are flaming those that went there it said they were giving away kinah not asking for you to buy any so I'm not sure why some are raking those that did go there over the coals.  Not to mention they set it up to look like the actual NCSoft site so some probably had no idea they were going to a different site and some probably still don't.  After a day or two the gold spammers started using those accounts to spam their messaging so people that had those accounts eventually got banned.  Even saw a toon as high as lvl 24 doing the spam so you know that person's account was jacked.

There are a few running around with banned accounts right now that didn't actually sell any gold or participate in any wrongdoing.  They simply made the mistake of going to that site.  If you are one of those people I'm not sure what you can do.  Either way, whether this was a completely false banning or your account was keylogged I feel for ya.

Best advice I can give is safeguard your info and if you're not sure about a site don't go to it, or if something sounds to good to be true it probably is.
