I dont run a firewall or antivirus, so as I said, it cant be that. I have Nextgentel, which might be causing the issue, but they are completely incompetent. I asked for an speed increase to my internet 3 weeks ago, and have still not gotten it, because they need to change out the ADSL card. Really? Three+ weeks? I used to have an issue with them back when i used Bittorrent, which I would constantly get bad signals. It took them 7 phone calls, 2 e-mails, and almost 5 months to get it fixed. I would drop them if I had any other option. The only other ISP for me is Telenor, and their speeds are garbage. You don't have a firewall, nor an antivirus??? Brave, or...? :D DB Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is. |

They are annoyances that don't usually do to much. Back when I used Nod32, Spybot and Zonealarm, my system was lagged to crap, and still I got viruses doing basic pirating. When my HDD finally ate the big one, I re-installed everything, and said to hell with them. I installed Firefox, and vowed to never open IE again (even though I HAVE to in order to get into my net bank...) and only download torrents that have a large collection of comments. Any time I need to do something that I am unsure about, I use my laptop. I have gotten two minor viruses in the last 3 years (when I got rid of the firewalls and anti viruses), whereas I used to get viruses monthly before. Why? False security. I will do a sweep on my system from time to time with Nod32, Avast and bitdefender. usually comes up with nothing, or false positives. If you control what you do on the internet, dont give out your IP, and dont have software that downloads e-mails to your HDD (or open e-mails you dont know the sender of) then you are just fine. Cut porn out, and you are golden. |

UK based, Virgin Media cable (ex NTL) and the game runs smooth as silk. My pc is no decent spec at all, 7600 graphics card for example, and I only have a bit of an fps issue around the main player areas, other than that, it's perfect. Agreed, no euro server, all on one. The makers are tweaking things almost daily atm, so if you are keen on the game, hang on in there, if not, you have my sympathy (been there with that fkn steam thing, never ever worked on my system)

Cut porn out, and you are golden. You can get viruses by simply visiting otherwise totally neutral sites. Some can be infected w/o its admins know about it. The things you listed are ONLY the most, very obvious ways to get viruses: there are a million more. Of course, I don't use IE either, but I'm truly happy to have my wireless modem as a firewall, and I don't mind Avira running on my system, the performance hit it takes is negligible. I have been burnt before, but I never had a single virus in the last 2 years since I've been using it. DB Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is. |

There is another reason to as why I wrote Gavlenet, that should indicate that there would be reason for you to trust me on my location. And I do not have 20s delays. My ping time is normally at 130ms. And even if you say this "And dont give me any lame "turn off the dls" cus that is all I got from help chat in game.", there is a reason to ask if your upload is choking your connection. I'm not trying to insult you or anything but when you say it is something lame thing to say, could tell alot about your knowledge about issues around that. Because it doesn't matter if even your downloads is only drawing a fraction of your bandwith if your upload is at max capacity. Anything uploading at max capacity that you can give, will give your long delays and alot slower download speed. Maybe it is not the problem, but if you are looking for solving your problem, why not start to answer simple questions?

MMORPG actually has been hacked a couple times and viruses were put on. The only way we found out was that people with antivirus programs were getting virus notifications when visiting the site. They had to bring the site down and revert to an older version. I can remember two times that this happened since I've been a member here. |

Then to have that same person go out and by a piece of software, not having any idea of the actual marryup of software requirements and system specs, receive horrible performance and then to go running to internet forums trashing the software. Now, I'm not pointing at the OP as I haven't seen them "trash" FE. That said, we've all read posts where people have done this. Their ignorance and mouth give that product an unwarranted bad reputation and cost that company money and possibly its existence. In my book, that just as unfair and unethical as a company doing as you suggest above. Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

I had pretty bad latency all through closed beta and open beta, i ask's the devs about a EU server at release and they were like " yeah yeah we plan to have a eu server" but then at the end of beta they announced no EU server, so my money went else where knowing full well they probably wouldn't fix that problem for a while. saying that, i did enjoy some of the game, but i won't pay for it until there's a EU server and vehicle physics, which i'm sure will happen at some point if FE does well. |

However, I dont think there will be an EU server, and I dont really think there should be either. I hope the latency issues get resolved, even though it does not appear to be on FE's end. But, having an EU server would just segregate the player base. The whole point of having just one server is so that it is a single world. Like with EVE. |

FE = Vanguard part 2 the apocolype only instead of having great graphics. The graphics in FE look super dated and crappy. Now on that note. Vanguard runs really well now. Granted it took over a year of patching and fixes to get it running smooth for most. So if you can stand the horrible lag much like Vanguard had.. Alot of bugs much like Vanguard had. Mixed with terrible content (unlike Vanguard) and Crappy outdated Graphics (unlike Vanguard) then this might be the perfect game for ya. |

But hey, that's just my opinion and I'm not gonna post it on the Vanguard forums because the braincells which have survived the regular dousings of alcohol contains my social skills. To the OP: Seems to be a NGT problem. Check your uploading, it completely chockes the d/l (that's the A in ADSL hurting you). And their upload speeds are crap. Get one of the Next3 subs, they are the only decent thing they offer.

I will assume that the "To the OP" thing was to me, since I am the one on NGT, lol. Anyway, I would LOVE to get Next3, but I cant. Next2 is the best they offer in my area, and even then, you dont get the full 20Mb, I can only get 12, max. Also, my upstream is not streaming more than 15 kbs, which is not close to bottle necking me. |

You could try speedtest.net and check your ping and speed to North Carolina. Sorry to hear about your problems. The game is great. Btw, just HOW far out on the countryside do you actually live?! Do you see tractors from your window? ;)

I am 10 minutes from the center of Bergen, which, as I am sure you know, is the second largest town in the country. :P No cable TV, no fiber network, nothing. ADSL is all we have. Pretty shit. I miss living in the US... Best damn connections I have ever had. Speedtest to NC:
