Yea, I know....SOE doesn't want to introduce that class and never will.....that sucks.

But, is there a way to make a beastlordish type character?  I don't think the cloth wearers would make good options but I was thinking of the mystic.

Can a melee spec mystic put points into his pet to make it so the pet is not a wet noodle?  Can the pet ever gain the ability to solo an equal lvl mob if it is debuffed by the mystic?

Is this a pipe dream or can this work?

I havn't played EQ2 in years, but i know there is a lot of versatility in the game and it's classes.I also know everyone that enjoys a pet class, wants their pet to be godlike knowing full well, you also have a player,so your not going to have a pet as good as a player plus have your player on top of that.

Even in saying that, pets in Eq2 are very strong.I have no idea what you mean by beastlord,i think you are trying to convey a term used in another game. Are you saying a class that tames beasts? so you control mobs in the game for yourself?

I am actually refering to the original beastlord class from EQ.  It was like a White Lion in WAR.  The pet was a powerful but that is becuase it was buffed and the mobs were debuffed by the beastlord himself.

The beastlord was part shaman and part monk....with a pet.  The devs will NOT , not now or ever, add that class to EQ2 as it would be overpowered.  SOme say is just wouldnt work as the actual player would be too weak or the pet would be too weak.

That is why I was wondering if a mystic, which gets a spirit wolf, could buff his pet with AA points to the point of being more capable than a paper bag.  The mystic himself can use AA points to change from spell based combat to melee based, which would fit the Beastlord more.....but the key is the pet....can the pet do anything aside from die a quick death?

A shaman is as close as you're going to get. Their pets aren't half bad. Otherwise, play EQ. :)
