Im considering buying the game and would like to know what are the strong points the people see in the game. Leaving aside that graphics are awesome, what is what you like the game? What is the difference with Lineage 2 for example?

The entire package! Fun pollished game with nice gfx, fun gameplay overall, good pvp and enough content to keep you busy for a long time. |

Compared to L2?
I like the randomness of encountering the other faction and being able to kill them without penalty. They show up as perma reds and can appear in a lot of different places. The game is polished and gear looks pretty good no matter what level you are. LineageII | LoTRO | RFO | 9Dragons | Aion | Perfect World | Ether Saga | Dungeon Runners | GuildWars | Hellgate London | tCoS | Warhammer | AoC | Tabula Rasa

Honestly? There isnt much I like about this game, its a grinder through and through. The crafting system is nice and (if you ever get there) end game armor system is neat. Other than that, after my free + paid for month is up Im going to switch to Fallen Earth. Aion is just another MMO that lacks originality which is what I was expecting from a game with so much hype, thank God it was free |

Aion certainly isn't for everyone, and yes... it does take work to get to the level cap... but it is a very polished, very well made MMO. One of the best I've ever played IMO (and I've played a lot) - I'm not in a rush to get to level cap and I couldn't care less if I takes me a few months or even till Christmas to get there (which is actually my goal). I like working for things and being given a sense of accomplishment.
A few things to note. If you don't like PVP you won't like Aion. Regardless of what people say, it is primarily a PVP game with PVE mixed in. There's 100% elements to both but IMO the focus is more PVP than anything. In addition, it isn't as quest rich as what WoW is - think of it more like Vanilla WoW with REAL world PVP. I guess that's a bad comparision because post 20 it really isn't that much like WoW - contrary to what people say. Its more of a DAoC/EQ cross IMO - but newer, fresher and more polish.
No one can tell you if you'll like it - you'll have to pick it up and give it a try. Takes about 3 hours to get to level 10 - after that you pick your class (you have a sub-class prior to that) and then the game really opens up. Yes, its a little linear compared to some MMOs (IE: It helps you/tells you where the quests are for the most part) but I actually like being given direction. I can explore anytime I want and I do plenty...
Some will tell you its another asian grinder but if you feel that way, games like Dark Ages, WAR, WoW, etc are ALL grinders... there is very little difference from 1-80 in WoW compared to 1-50 in Aion... some hardcore players are already mid-40's but obviously they are putting in a lot of time (6+ hours a day). The average gamer will likely hit cap in 2-3 months depending on play time, how good/fast they level etc. L2 was a very long progression, and getting to level cap there could take years. Here, it's tough but not that tough... and there's so much to do I don't even want to rush to level cap. I enjoy just going at my own pace.
Hope that helps - best of luck in whatever you decide. |

I like it so far, nothing sticks out as pure awesome, but everything so far is good.
Unlike say Conan, which was pretty good in alot of areas, awesome in some of the concepts and the melee healer class (all new MMO's should have a Bear Shammy class imo, ALL) and fail in others. Aion just seems to be well rounded without anything thats revolutionary or lacking badly.
Enjoying it so far. |

It is well rounded, no doubt, just feels like another MMO to me. |

The complete and utter lack of any disciplinairy actions against goldfarmers and bots, and the lack of any response from CSR's or GM make this game a real paradise for all goldfarmers (at least on Gorgos EU). Too bad, since I actually like Aion but it's frustrating that NCSoft apparently doesn't care much about the spammers and so indirectly about us. http://dafool.mybrute.com |

From Ayase's tweet feed: @aion_ayase One of the issues we'll be looking to address is gold spam. |

Its being addressed... Yes, its a problem but they already have steps in place to fix it...
Now, I log in and immediately type /anon so I don't get stupid whispers... then I block the 4-5 annoying farmers and I don't see ANY more in game for a good few hours. Everyone knows its an issue but at least NCSoft appears to be doing something about it. Give them a few weeks - every game has gold farmers, precious WoW included. |

Not that Im aware of since nobody could play it back then. |

Yea, it takes an entire 2 mins after logging in to block the insane spam from these bots.
It's like a raid encounter all in its own trying to right click and block them as they send the constant stream of spam in all the chats.
Is it desperation to make money or just the spammers being ass's is what im wonering, how can they even sell their prouct when they spam 2 pages of it every few secs. |

aion_ayase I'm hoping we'll have an "Address to the nation"-type of notice put up today or tomorrow on gold spamming.

The sad part is that the spamming is incredibly effective. I am sure they have already made thousands. Also it doesn't take much effort to make a bot that does this so expect it until NCSoft bans accounts. True Neutral Half-Elf Ranger Mage |

Im loving the pvp in the Abyss. Some random Asmodian vs Elyos in any part of the Abyss. Flying + fighting rules (unless you run out of flying-time and there is no land close lol) Also attacking and getting Artifacts to your guild / legion, making random alliances to gank elyos while they are trying to conquer a fortress...etc, pretty nice! Qutie honestly....I'm not certain. Like you hear a lot, there isn't anything innovating about it yet it still holds appeal. I think the thing is that Aion delivers in a balanced fashion meaning the facets of the game are good and enjoyable. It doesn't blow my socks off like 'Wow, i"ve found my game of the future!' but it does deliver enjoyment. I don't find myself aching to log in and play but every time I do I find myself not wanting to log out neither. The things that do deter me from the game are ques but it has lessened dramatically for the server I am on so it is no longer an issue. But gold spam is. I'm not even sure what channel it was because I couldn't even see it. But I logged in last night on a new character I just made and immediately chat filled with spam over...and over...and over. I mean literally non-stop. I've never seen the gold spammers that tenacious but then again I've seem them go through the extra effort in WoW to spell out their domain name with dead bodies in Stormwind so I shouldn't be surprised. Hopefully Aion gets a handle on this soon. But for me right now it feels more like a filler game but who knows with more time and game development. It's still early though folks will say its been out in Korea. They have to remember NC Soft also stated that all regions would be on the same content as well (iirc) so we're all heading in the same direction now. For now its well polished and gives you same enjoyable experiences and moments. |

Originally posted by Zhauric Its been out for I believe a year in Korea. Taking into consideration that their use to the "grinding" MMOs Im not seeing any real improvements any time soon. However, I hope to be proved wrong. Im very anxious to see what is on the next patch rather than a few big fixes |

The #1 reason I'm playing Aion is for the simple reason of the way they have PvP setup. Meaning it has purpose, drive and incentive, much like DAoC did. Including, but not limited to sieges, relic capture, fortress capture, PvP ranks and gear with probably more to come down the road. |

The MMO genre as a whole is a running joke considering a 5+ year old game is so dominant. |
I don't know why but I will say I enjoyed the chasing involved during PvP when you're out gunned and out numbered so the first thing you do is run up to higher ground to jump off and glide.
I've seen enemy players chase each other around all over an entire zone sometimes lasting 10 to 20 mins. |

pvp (rifting or abyss) with legion mates has got to be tops for me. Close 2nd is pve grouping in elite area's. |

Nah nothing good about aion...it just has the best pvp system best animation best graphics best everything and on top of all its fun. but dont try it |

I'm still young in the game. I like that it is an Korean MMO with actual UI options. I'm not forced to use "click to move". I also like the variation in character sizes you cna make. AMG I can actually make a little kid character and the character will actually look like a kid, big head and all. I can even make a midget with standard midget proportions. Or a giant. |
