Some videos and images from Dragon Ball Online.  Looks ...... disappointing.

at 1st, it sounded like a good idea, but did you saw some pvp battle and pve? It dont look like dragon ball at all. kid boo was cool, tall boo too, but i hated the big one. So if i want to make a majin, i have to be a big boo only. This is really really a bad move.

The combat is not focus on flying and its suppose to be the dragon ball z mmorpg. The gameplay dont look like a dragon ball game at all. The game will not made it i believe.

 Yea, I still have faith.  Dragon Ball Universe screams MMO & PvP...  we'll have to wait and see...

I was expecting 6 mins of dialog choices, followed by 2 mins of "powering up", followed by 6 frames of action.

I'm disappointed.

(tbh I think DBZ is one of the prime culprits for a lot of anime hating you see; it's really a pretty terrible series :X )

 That is so true, but you forgot the 5 minutes it took the smoke to clear out.

This is all pretty old.

Game looks to childish, they should have buffed the GFX up a bit, to somfin like FF XIV - they should have made it a bit meaner with atleast some rag doll physics....

It's not a terrible series at all, it's just that a lot of older people watch it and completely ignore that dragon ball was for kids from the very beginning. Young boys want to see action, lots of it. They don't have that much interest in meaningful dialogue or a rich and deep plot because they are kids.

Dragon Ball was never a good universe for an mmorpg. The universe itself has nothing to offer as the entire series take place on only a handful of locations, none of which are unique or interesting and the fighting itself covers large amount of land and air between two people. You can replicate this in a fighting game, but not in an mmorpg with thousands of players.

First a crappy movie and now this! Dragon Ball is now a truly dead franchise , at least in the US. Its a shame , My son enjoyed the show back in its day.

I think the Dragon Ball universe makes for a great MMO.  Akira is involved in the project and they are ignoring the events of DBGT, new content can be created along with new threats and worlds to explore.   Instancing could solved that "remote" location for certain PvP events.  I am just disappointed in how the game looks right now.
