Or frost mages or rogues in PvP? Or will enhancement always lag behind all the other classes/specs in this game? Is there any hope for them in Cataclysm? Are there any planned buffs or just some nerfs? I don't play the game anymore and won't due to the way shaman have been ignored but I do wonder about the professionalism of Blizz as it relates to class balance in PvP..... |

Variety is the spice of life, unfortunately, it's also the bane of balance. |
Very doubtful, your best bet is to transfer to a PvE server if you're not already on one. That or reroll pretty much anything else for PvP dps. |

Blizz balances around class not spec. If you look at realm history for percentage of top players ( http://www.realmhistory.net/arena-statistics/class-breakdown.html ). Shammies show up extremely well. Shammies that are represented ( http://www.realmhistory.net/arena-statistics/specs/2v2.html ) overwhelming tend to be resto or elemental. Just as mages are overwhelming frost. You simply do not see fire mages in high rated arena.

But going from DPS to healer is a massive change in game play. How many Arms warriors throw their hands up and reroll discple priests? Resto is only one, ONE, spec out of three...the other two are DPS! And when it comes to healing...shaman are the worst PvP healers.....they have the lowest health, no reall CC and no real anti-CC....a ret pally will ALWAYS out run a shaman, everytime all the time.....115% speed over ghost wolf's 100%???? No, shaman is and has been a joke in PvP for a long time...the only reason teams win with shaman is their opponents are not that intelligent. All shaman specs are horrible in pvp compared to other classes, particularly the hybrids, which there is only one other and that is paladin. Druids were ruled out as hybrids by blizz for some reason. Anyway, from what you are all saying, shaman will continue to fall behind.....I am sure none of you play shaman too...that alone speaks volumes on the class. |

Shammies are the number one class in 5v5. Look at realmhistory for crying out loud. The top spec for those shammies is elemental with resto close behind. Now, I have a dual specced enhance / resto shammy that I like to play. I agree with you that enhancement is not viable in arena. The same can not be said for resto. |

For Crying Out Loud!!! thanks for the info on Elemental and 5V5. |

No, for blizz it's balanced when rogue is best melee class. And guys it's not same enhancement shaman as on pre bc which relayed on luck mostly, now it has prolly biggest learning curve in pvp to be successful, hardly there is 2 enhancement shammies per realm that can play pvp. Anyways u can suck and get high in wotlk even with enhancement in 3v3 or 5v5. |

Who did wrong? The advertiser hired to sell the game or the consumer who put faith in advertising? |

Exactly. Pendulums only swing one direction and never return. Blizzard fully intends to let shamans slowly fade from the game. Just like Blizzard believes all pickup groups should consist of 1 healer and 4 death knights; it will never change, it is working as intended. /end sarcasm |
