Haven't played the game and don't plan to so I will only comment on one thing that I knew would be there without playing it, the grinding. People whine and complain about it and actually act surprised when they find they have to grind mobs to level. I'm guessing those same individuals have never played an Asian MMO before. I have never seen one that didn't involve grinding. They enjoy doing that over there, more so than western players. Not to say nobody here does, but not near as many. It may be more polished than most grinders, but no matter how much polish it has, in the end, it's still nothing more than another grinder with the same Asian character models and grinding. If you don't mind that kind of thing, then I would try it. From what I hear from friends, it's the best one to hit the US yet.

Same reason I've put the game down. I took a break beginning on Monday and I haven't logged in since then, and I haven't really had the desire to either.
Same here. I found myself playing the game just because I had bought it, not because I really wanted to play it. So I cancelled subscription and felt relieved. Playing this game made me feel like wearing a corset. |

I also cancelled my subscription for pretty much this reason. I've tried to get into the game, but it really is just grinding. Some people keep saying "Its not grinding, I've done quests all the way through - you must be doing something wrong!" - Well they are missing the point. Almost every quest is a grind in this game outside of the campaign quests. In other games, these "kill 10 monsters" are filler quests - in this game the "kill 10 monsters" is the core of the game. Its just not interesting. I can only assume that those that love the game have just blasted through those parts in the hope that the next bit is good, then perhaps the next bit after that. Its not a terrible game, but this game is really for people who love MMOs and love to grind. For the normal folks they will have stopped playing within a month or two. This game has no X-Factor and I guess that can only be expected when they don't try to offer anything new. The long wait for a great MMO continues... |

I can't think of one MMO that doesn't have quests to level up. I take that back...in Warhammer you can level without questing. But that is assuming others are PVPing. What other MMO's have you enjoyed? |

So, kill xxx mobs or collect XX items are boring? Look most of MMo are ALL LIKE THAT! WOW, AOC, OR Warhammer, they all have the same questing system. What do you want?? How about this?
NPC: Please go to take a vacation for 3 days in New Orleans and when you come back write a report, then I will grant you a new new skill! Accept? or Decline?
Is this quest new enough for you? Gees... |

Hehe it really sounds a bit booring and a timewaster, I'm happy playing non-mmo's atm - although I'm a mmo "fan". |

That's kind of why I never got into the game. The quests themselves just never really got you into the game at all. After playing MMO's for the better part of 10 years now, I need something that is going to keep my interest. I couldn't find it in Aion. Yes, it was very polished, it ran very smooth but that's it. It may not be 'grindy' in the sense of the word but when the content in and of itself is boring, it makes it feel that much more hard to get through it. On top of that the mobs weren't very interesting and the world itself, while pretty in some areas, just didn't seem like it had any character.

Every MMO. Hmm lets see, FFXI not boring or linear story. When people still use renkei, not click click little icons, needed to be timed right. DAOC, reactionary combat, fun pvp, and no wings which is a plus in my books. These are just 2 games that dont funnel you down a little path to the supposed great pvp the game has to offer. I could go on but no point arguing with you since you know all about every game on the market. |

FFXI was the most boring MMO ever.. not to mention RETARDED, as a noob playing that game you have no idea what to do, the mechanics blow, the only good thing about it is the name it comes with. |

This is your opinion as mine is Aion is the most boring game ever. Opinions are a great thing, we all have them and no ones is really wrong. FFXI was and is one of the best games I ve ever played IMO. |

I have a lot of quests, most people think after 25 they must level in the abyss, which is retarded, at 30 herion comes has tons of quests on the Eylsea side, and i've been there and im 34 now and still have quests they yeild 300k + exp. so please, when you say there is nothing to do, EXPLORE! |

1. Liar liar pants on fire... 2. Not true, you never need to touch crafting and gathering if you don't want to. They have a quest here and there that require you to gather things but you skip them without missing anything (since they never offer anything great) and you can get better stuff questing or off mobs. 3. I've never played an MMO where I didn't have bag space problem. Though I am assuming you are filling your bags with crafting material when you don't even want to craft. So the fault is all yours. Make a mule if it is such a problem. 6. I don't know about every zone but I have seen 20+ zones with channels. Theobomos is one example that I have seen. Oh and for all the technical problems (minus the servers going down). Most lag and disconnect problems are caused by the user or their computer set up. People like to point fingers instead of accepting the fact that their dial up modem and 5 year old PC can't handle the game. |
