Fantasy is more popular than sci fi, and will continue to be so for whatever reason. Doesn't mean a sci fi game can't be huge, doesnt' mean a lot of players aren't tired of fantasy and looking forward to more sci fi. But the fact remains that fantasy is more popular than sci fi. |

and watch the community die after the first two months look at all the other games that have come out like aoc and you'll see that they get a ton of players before the game dies out after the first month or two same will happen to tor with nothing to keep the community around |

AoC was just a terrible concept to begin with (imo); instancing EVERYTHING. Horrible example. If you want to mention Warhammer; the game's not actually doing that bad per se. It's still surviving. I think you're just ate up that SWG is dying (though it took it a little over a year) and want to incite a flame war at every chance you get. This game won't die, especially within the first two months. It just won't. It may not end up harboring as large a crowd as WoW, but that's all well and good. I'm happy to be the first to say that you have no voice in this forum. Everything you say under the TOR forum heading is simply benign slander and nothing more. THE Rooster Nash |

Thats so true. I heard all this wow killer comments when warhammer was being created and look what happened there. Who cares about wow if your here you are a TOR fan and future player, all we care about is this game. |

AoC flopped for so many reasons. Reasons that would cause any MMO to have the same affect. BioWare just has to give people a solid game and deliver what is promised. I think people are catching on to the empty promises, you know, the ones that are on the box but releases with half of them missing. BioWare is not running around shouting in detail we have this and that until they have evidence to prove so. That's part of why I think they will be so successfull. The online market is changing. More and more people are playing online games and becoming comfortable with the idea. Kids are growing up playing online games like Pirates of the Carribean or Toontown or FusionFall. For them, MMORPGs are just like any other game rather than a niche market only for hardcore basement dwellers. And they will grow into the teens and college kids who will swell the numbers of future MMORPGs. We're likely to see the communities and interest in upcoming games grow as MMORPG market continues to grow. Plus, it's freaking Star Wars! Pop-Cultural Icon? Two entire generations of fans (going onto three)? Combined with the popularity of online gaming, you're going to see some interest in this game. |

I could be wrong, but wasn't SWG (pre CU) and WoW pretty close in population before everyone left SWG after they screwed it up? |
