This spelled the end for me. 5 years of loyalty, and thousands of hours of gameplay. All to come to proving all the SoE haters absolutely 100% correct. Even after the addition of the SC, I bit my tongue and hoped for the best. Boy, was I wrong... Too bad, was looking in to coming back. I know latest xpack only adds AA advancement, not levels, so i wouldn't feel Entirely behind with a 77 toon. Wondering if this cash shop thing was a reaction out of principles, or if all the top guilds/players are prettymuch required to pay and play to stay competitive (does the LoN thing really affect the player)? In guilds none of this stuff even comes up. None of the stuff you can buy really does much other then look neat. Some people buy things mostly the costume stuff but most don't. We get free LoN cards every month that sometimes have some nifty item. The big excitement now is that one of the LoN cards gives you a key to a small instance dungeon that no doubt gives some cute fluff loot. So I'm expecting all of the excitement is really about nothing. I play eq2 and have for a long time. I've never bought anything other then the free stuff you get from time to time. |

How difficult would it be to catch up/get to the point where I'd be w/ other players. I remember the trip up to 68 or so being rough, barely saw people. Now that the zone I'm in at 77 is dated, once I hit 80 good amount of people still running alts through expansion? Or will it be quiet till I get neigh-max AA too. I loved eq2 good graphics and ahead of its time when it was released. Beautiful scenery, fun to explore. In my opinion this is def a must play in my opinion. and no i don't think it's to late to start. Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent. |

Really the best thing is to get in a nice guild. The one I'm in is always running alts and people help each other a lot. It isn't unusual for someone to say hey lets get a group together and do nektolos castle or something. But if you are gonna play solo then you will be doing a lot of quest runs to level up. In the upper 70s there is a lot of content in kunark and Moors you can run. There will be people in these zones and you can probably get people to do a number of the dungeons. Chat is never quiet. Once you hit 80 you will be able to get in groups doing TSO instance run as well as any of the kunark dungeons. I guess a lot depends on what you want to do and what kinda person you are. |
