   the game has its ups and downs, and mostly downs atm, massive amounts of Spam to sell gold so much so, that any chat is quickly spammed out of the way with the consistant stream of Gold sellers Peddling they're goods, they're goods collected by BOTS, Multy box bots (groups) characters running around in safe none agroe areas killing everythng insight, they kil so fast that any player trying to complete quests in the area has to time it right or he will get his Target killed off before he/she can do enough dmg to claim as they'rs,

     hear rumers that NCsoft is going to do something, hope so, or im off to a diff game, too sad.

all you have to do is right click their name and block then type /anon and you will never see or hear them again. And yes ncsoft is gonna do something about it.

My new motto; Nothing worth saying takes less than a giant wall of (kinda)structured text! :D

WHEN!!? :D

I mean, the game is so new, and from the rumors i heard, the gold sellers were spamming the chat&private channels with sales advertisements eversince the game was released such a short while ago. (Especially the EU servers). Lol, day-one gold sales! Maybe they made the gold pre-release/early start,

or maybe they dont have any gold to sell to begin with,

the important thing is the ''spam and blocking''.

Goldsellers are advertising their activities regularly on both general chat and via private tells. One click and they are blocked.

*ALAS, i am even getting tired of ''blocking'' those people as the frequency of their ''tells'' is increasing daily :D heheh. Is there an AION TRIAL?

Coz if those are not trial accounts used to sell gold, i dont see  why the devs wont ban the whole account the ''gold seller - character name'' belongs to,

AND pretty soon, the gold sellers will be loosing more money than they are making, right? (every ban=gold seller has to buy a new game)

And thus the issue would be solved...... But ofcourse for this to work, the trial offers must be suspended - IF THERE ARE ANY to begin with,

Just my two cents.

Cheers

the GMs do nothing, you can report them as much as you want they wont get banned.

Welcome to how Lineage II was.   It's the same story.    Did you guys really think it would be any different?

I used to play Lineage II, but i was never bothered with the amount of ''private tells'' that i am getting now from Aion. During my time playing that game, i was only accosionally bothered with a ''gold spam'' on the general chat channels and the ilk, (i am speaking of MY experience, not others)

but i did not used to get a private gold-spam tell once every 5-10 mins.

So my point is that Aions in game gold spam seems to be more intense than my previous experiences with other games.

I would have to agree with some of the posters on here that this is no different the L2.  However its' quite rude to get whispers from them.

All I have to say is /ignore is my best friend.

Use "/anon" and the right click block feature ... takes 2 seconds and you never have deal with them again. It's really not that hard to do.

Perfection66:

If you would have read my previous post, you would have seen that i am indeed using the ''right click'' block future, and yes, its not hard to do at all= i have EVEN posted it with bold letters and a thin line under to make it more visble.

So; I am not saying that its bothering me so much at all;

what i am trying to do is to make a statement as such that gold farming is indeed getting a little too rampant in this game, and that i sympatize with the OP.

PS;

i did not know of the /anon command - cheers for that.

Well, a little while ago they publicly banned some spammers and then made an announcement. There was a bit of humor in it as well. As I said in another post, it's not a permanent fix (one of many being that if people stopped buying they wouldn't have a market and would stop - but I digress) but it's most likely part of a greater whole of fixes.

Gold spammers come to every game and even more so when it's popular like Aion is. When NCsoft put in right click block that has pretty much stopped all gold spam for me. I would like to see more action taken but if Blizzard couldn't get rid of it then I do not see much hope for NCsoft. I'm quite happy with right click block and that is enough for me. I would like to see a option that let's only friends list send you tells and or a option to set a level requirement.

My patience was kind of getting tested everyday with the growing frequency of spams, but it seems they're giving some attention to spammers and bots now, at least on Azphel the gold spam after a few GM announcements has been quite silent. If it will become bad again as soon as the GM service time ends, we don't know, but I know how to recognize when actions are being taken, and after GG, queues being solved (on the US side) and apparently an increasing attention on the spam and bots issue, they have got some credibility in my eyes.

I've been watching Fringe today so I have no idea how it is now, you'll see me venting complaints in these forums if it returns, but for now, thanks NCSoft.

Edit - Yeah, without GMs the spamming returns along with the right-click blocking fest, so I hope they have some effective long-term solution in the works.
