When I read that Aion gets flooded with goldspammers, I wondered where the ones in FE are. Up to now I saw no single one. And that even though (at least in the early game) everything is incredibly expensive. I just used up my rifle ammo and now switched back to my crossbow because I needed the resources I'd use up for ammonition for other stuff. And I'm just using up the gas on my atv and will afterwards switch back to my horse for a while. Not to mention that when I started, even a single pen and a piece of paper where incredibly expensive for me.

So where are the spammers? Is the game not important enough subscriberwise? Or is the way the game is set up not working well with the way game-traders work? IE that grinding mobs (which they probably do normally to get their gold) is a rather inefficient way to make money in FE, especially since you can constantly run out of bagspace, ammo or exceed the weight.

Just wondering...

Not that I'd ever use their services of course. I'm glad they haven't invaded the game yet. :)

Good question.

It is true that grinding mobs for money is not an option... they don't drop chips ever as far as I have seen and farming mobs for valuable loot isn't the way the game works either. The way I have accumulated chips is to quest and sell scavenged material.

I'd also note that there is a strong presence of GMs clamping down on any sort of spamming. This isn't difficult with just one server, and 3 sectors so 3 regional channels (is that correct?), so I'd say that makes it harder... it may be something we will see in the future when the game expands but right now it is blessedly spam free.

I'm guessing there wouldn't  be any in a game that you can't bot in (no auto targeting.)  I never saw any in Darkfall.

I'd say a combination of mobs not dropping money, players not having money (so unable to buy stuff on an AH flooded with goods) and a strong GM presence.

geesh this is my third try to post.

Yes there is quite a number of RMT sites involved in Fallen Earth. The game allowing more than 1 player allows them to exploit certain areas of the game.By that i mean there appears to be limitations on quests/gaining CHIPS after you put too many points into certain areas of your player...example Charisma.

CHIPS seems to be their main target,i am not sure exactly what you use CHIPS for in this game, however they also sell stuff like LEAD and IRON.I guess it is as i said, most players want to advance,so they will a lot all their points and eliminate themselves from making or farming other items.I am not really sure how it is done, but that is what i gathered from the little bit of searching i did.

Few questions...How bad has the economy got at this point? Is Icarus doing anything to combat it?

Is there limitations to mounts/weapons/ammo in this game?Or can the RMT totally ruin the entire game  by selling a day 1 noob the best of everything?Or do you need certain allotted points to be able to use different items?

Does the game allow multi clients?that again would ruin the game,as you could bring all 4 players out into the field and have a much easier time of the game and of course have more storage space out in the field. What type of transfer system does the game use?Do you have to head back into trade towns to post item on the auction house?or could a RMT send item through some mail system?I am trying to get a fix on the ways RMT can exploit the game.

What also is disturbing,is that this post shows, many FE players do not know there is RMT trying to ruin their game,so there may not be any push on Icarus to step up and clean up their game.

There is RMT for Fallen Earth... but the game just isnt big enough to merit actual manpower to spam for sales. Getting goldspammers is actually one of the measuing points of a MMO, it means that other people think your game is popular enough to invest thier time into....

Actually its kind of an interesting story.  It turns out the Shiva virus attacked the GoldSpammers first....  and they decided not to clone any.

I do agree though, the only way for them to truly make tons of chips would be to craft and sell, but with the whole population being somewhat crafter heavy and the high prices for the AH, they would be spending chips to make chips.. getting a good surplus on chips would take a very long time and I doubt they would be able to meet demands efficiently.

To answer your questions, the economy is fairly decent,  but its still very early in the game.  I don't know if there are any limits, but as for mounts, once you craft it and use it, you cannot sell it.  You can sell mounts on the AH or do quests for mounts.. but ultimately selling items like lead and stuff for real money is pretty much pointless.

The thing is, you can't use all of the best armor, or ride the best horses, or craft the best weapons at low levels.. you have to level up.. and powerleveling is almost non existent as theres no mobs to grind out.   Everything goes in stages, so even if you were given 20 thousand chips when you first got in game it would only help you to the extent of your character progression which would be minimal and therefore pointless (although helpful in the sense you wouldn't be hard up for chips).

Also, you can advance by crafting and harvesting, but it takes a very long time when you sit and just craft all day, you would progress very slowly if you crafted without harvesting your own resources..  and if you had to buy all of your resources you'd be wasting tons of money when its out there so freely in the world which is all part of the fun.

I guess with only one server it's not profiteable for them, thank god for us.  And there is always GM on in the game so if anyone is remotly trying to sell gold it will get shutted down instantly.

That one took me a couple seconds, but I lol'd.

But Fallen Earth, I can't see gaining anything close to a chat-spamming force. There are too many other games that would be more profitable, and you can't even complain about lag on Fallen Earth without getting the GM's attention.

All in all, I think it comes down to profit. On the spectrum, I would put Fallen Earth at the lowest end of the profit spectrum, next to Darkfall.

Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game...

I would much rather have fun.

I hope they jump up there higher...My money went straight to the devs.  I can't wait to jump into this game...Stupid patching!

I think a big part is due to the active nature of the GM's. If someone starts spamming region or New Player chat with Gold Seller messages, they will just get slapped silly and banned.

The GM's are very active in the game, maybe due to the fact that it only has the one live server. I personally love this about the game and think the GM's do a great job and it's something I wish other games would do.

Actually no.  The reason you don't see gold spammers is because money is not a focal point in this game.

Most of your equipment is crafted, and money does not play a central role in this game.  Anything you can buy from the vendors can also be crafted.  Also any items you need to craft equipment can be scavenged.

So tell me why you would even need money except in a dire emergency if you run out of something and don't have time to go scavenging for parts to craft what you need?

The only thing you actually require money for in this game is your pattern and skill books, which aren't rediculously priced and are buyable using the chips you obtain from quests.

Skill books are also craftable, and from what I'm to understand the highest level skill books are craftable only.. but I can't speak from experience on that one.

I mean the profitability for gold farmers is low. I imagine gold farmers would rather be on Aion right now.
