Programmings not about knowledge of the language, but creativity. |
I thing (could be wrong) that s3 is alot more pvp oriented then the other sectors. |

Anything sandbox is "an aspect left up to player whims", and here are some examples of that; 1. Crafting - nobody holds your hand here, go find stuff on your own and take care of business. 2. Quest towns - Nothing dictates you have to be in the one you are at, you can shop around and it makes no difference. Pacing is NOT determined by location as much here. 3. Actually I think that's it...
The game is definitely a theme park, but shares as much sandboxy goodness as SWG did. You can just go out in the middle of nowhere and do whatever you feel like - but the simple fact that there are quests with story progression such as this does suggest it's theme park... I say it's hybrid. Is EVE online a theme park for having mission agents? I think not. Everything else in the game points both directions. Finished? A bad term for any MMO, but even then they need to know when to stop I guess. Going on forever is fruitless, and they prolly have new skills figured in and just how much AP can go around at that point. What I am interested in though is seeing more of the USA open up, I wanna squeal with glee as I cross the rockies over into souther california and Tijuana (which would prolly be the most powerful place in the zone lol), as well as see post-apocalyptic swamps in lousiana past the dead straw fields of kansas. It's got a very home-like feel to it being an American, I can only hope there is a tattered flag to wear as a cape at some point. Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game... I would much rather have fun. |

First thing that comes to mind when I think sandbox is full access to the gaming world as soon as your character is created. Its not real sandboxy if you are locked into an area until you get to a certain level. Mobs roaming in predictable movement patterns and respawn in the exact same locations arent sandbox. Also resources that are level based and locked into certain zones don't make it sandbox. In UO reagents, ore, lumber, are spread out all over the gaming world and you don't have to keep going back to the same spots to get them. Although there are hot spots for ore.
