Dude the OP wasn't dissing Aion. he was just stating that his comp couldn't handle it OR there was lag. Uhmm little FYI Aion does have lag, because there are alot of people playing it. And imo if you take the graphics out of AION (turn down yoru settings) you are just playing WoW....

Granted I trolled it up too much, I apologize but I daresay the title is a huge bait imo.

I played WoW way back then, and the difference between low settings to max settings was not much. Granted like someone else mentioned that coding of the game plays a part but my point is, a player who has not played a wide range of games that came from WoW is most definitely in a treat when they play a game that did not develop their coding efficiently or playing a game with an advanced engine.

Anyway, I apologize to the op and the community -head in shame- but really Dewm, its ironic that your saying that to me since I already graduated and I am a  freelancer. I can't say much for you when your still in college, who knows maybe your doing a PTJ while studying? Kudos to you Sir(I am being sincere)

EDIT: I also recommend Lotr, the environment and artwork is beautiful but I can't say for the same for the character models(though you can easily not care about it as the positives out way the cons)
 

Played this up to 20 and went back to EQ2 myself. Great game, The problems I had with this game was mostly lag, and I knew i wouldn't stick to it because the PVE is lacking, after all it is a pvp game.

Upgrade computer ftw? Anyways, EQ2 is fun if you don't get overwhelmed by everything you can do. AoC isn't that fun but worth a trial look.

ya op aion has the same issue wow had a while ago till they started to do this

restart their server more often,wow sometime restarted twice in the same day because of server lag

if aion stay as popular as it is might have to start to do the same restart  at least once a day

 Wait... EQ1 and EQ2 has good SOLO content now?

Whether WOW's engine is old is irrelevant. If a player thinks that the graphics good, that is good enough. WOW's engine is old but the art direction is timeless and things still look good.

That itself is a BIG competitive advantage. If Aion cannot make a un-demanding graphics engine and make their scenes look good, it has no ground to complain about its competition who can do so.

WOW is a fun starter MMO but it's graphics are terrible...Period.

Lineage II, Guild Wars, LOTRO, Granado Espada (SOTNW) are examples of good art direction. WOW is not, so for the LAST time stop trying to add it to the great art direction list. Their goal was a game that could be played on a toaster and they succeded. Their bet payed off.

 That was the price they were prepared to pay for it to run on any pc.

Actually World of Warcraft has a great art direction. Its visuals are outdated from a technical perspective, sure, but from an artistic standpoint the game looks stunning.

Nice try but wrong,he said he played EQ2 and EQ2 is far more demanding and better looking than Aion,and i mean FAR more demanding.It has already been mentioned there is some problems for many with lag issues,i don't really think anyone has figured it out yet,or maybe it is just certain servers.IMO it is the over loaded servers,this again is already an issue known to NCSOFT,they are banking on the servers to cool down as the population is in less of a frenzy to play 24/7.I'm sure the lag issues may dissipate as time goes by.

Yeah its great if you enjoy a 5 year old engine, lag issues, crash issues. A Pure CRAFTING/Sandbox game. Graphically, well it takes place in a desert, so any 10 year old can do a desert with a box of crayons. The game does not even compare to Aion or WoW or any other P2P game. Pretty sure even Asheron's Call beats FE.

If you plan to play eq2, i would recommend any server besides Antonia Bayle, as it is far too high in population and it adds to people's distress.

I can attest to the Guk server as it has a friendly population, enough people forming groups all the time and an active economy.

WHOA WHOA WHOA! a troll on THIS forum? not possible.... I want to see it!

There is a difference between lag and crappy framerates.  If your computer could play WoW fine you should be able to play Aion fine as well.  My rig actually played Aion better with x8 AA compared to WoW, I got like 30fps when I was in org but I never dropped below 40 in Aion when there is 100's of people in the starting area.

So if its lag things arent as responsive, you press a hotkey it takes a second or 2 to react or things will freeze then all of a sudden your dead that is lag.

Yes it's art direction is stunning alright.... Stunningly bad.

From a gameplay & UI standpoint WOW is among the best games made...Period.

From a graphic & artistic standpoint it's among the worst made....Period.

You can't have it all no game does. Again this is the price Blizz was willing to pay for it to run on any PC.

Low pollys doesn't have to mean low detail, other titles have proven this. If you've played those listed above and objectively reviewed them it's quite clear WOW doesn't compete artisticly.

WOW is the subscription leader because it's fun and has some of the most intuitive controls and UI of any MMO to date.

Not because of graphics or artistic direction, so again please stop this nonesense.

Simple choice: want to solo all the time: LOTRO, prefer to group: EQ2.

Well like others said its NOT the graphics in AION.. its a OLD graphics engine. Its just your conection TO Aion. But your not alone others seem to be having alot of this lag..
