I don't love or hate Aion. I played open beta up to 17 and decided it wasn't for me, but I figured lots of people would truly like it. It is good to see some positivity regarding this game though, since most of what I have seen on here thus far has been whining about queues and other negativity. Whether you like it or not, totally up to you, and i respect anyone's heartfelt opinion. Kudos for the OP for dropping something positive into what has started to become a negativity filled cesspool. |

Been playing since launch. I'm having fun. It's addictive. Community good, although sometimes like Barrens. I can escape the cesspool that our world (lol, and this forum), is becoming. And that's the whole point. Escape.....also known as recreation. No, it's not the "next big thing". But it's fun. It's linear at lower lvls, that changes higher up. Dynamic ranks, and actual penalty for dying, and lots of other things that Wow would've liked to have thought of first. "It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. QFT lol... The only reason that guy posts anything in these forums is to annoy people. His thread he refers to was destined to be flamed in such a manner.. posting a thread about how he hates Aion so much he throws it across the room, I don't know exactly what kinda response he expected from that. And yet he keeps coming back just to argue with Aion players on how it's so themepark as if his thread wasn't enough. What's "pathetic" is someone who hates themeparks so much to even be here for Aion open beta when they hate anything remotely like WoW, be GIVEN the actual game and actually play it, and to come on the boards just to annoy people on how much he thinks the game sucks. Seriously man, gtfo these boards. |

I picked it up a few days ago or so. I like it ok. At the moment, I see this game lasting 2-3 months for me, which is worth the price I paid. Maybe it will last longer once I start to pvp, I don't know. I've seen people call it a grinder, but not really. I guess if you're not having fun, it is a grind. Overall for me, it is a decent game, and a little refreshing for the newness of it, but nothing extraordinary. The classes are ok for me. I haven't found a diverse selection of classes since daoc. (Don't bother bringing up skill based. I usually find less variety in those than class based games.)

People give it a rest, Aion is the next big thing, atleast until the next game hyped game releases, then Aion will fall into the same category as all the others. This is a never ending cycle. It will continue with SWToR, GW2, and FFXIV. Waiting for: FFXIV V2.0, ArcheAge,GW II |

There's a huge problem with not enough mobs once you hit 20+ and go on to the pvp maps. Constantly fighting your own race over mobs, I mean it literally took a friend and I 45miins to finish a kill 12 mob quest cause everyone and their mom was grabbing them as fast as they could and if you got 1 in 5mins time it was considered lucky. Of course this will die down with time, but the mob spawns should be way more populated. 200+ people in a little circle doesn't go well. So that pretty much ruined my progress for Aion I have no intention of logging in anytime soon.

Of course but I never experienced a launch where I couldn't even do my quests in a timely matter. The population of mobs is too thin even when it dies down, there's maybe 22ish birds that spawn near Eltnen Fortress, that's like the equivalence of bigfoot appearing. So no don't give me other launches have the same problem cause they don't. You can be jammed packed and still have mobs to kill unless of course you are going for a boss that's expected to wait specially at launch, but normal mobs, no way.
