A quick guide to get the most of your Druid in World of Warcraft from our new World of Warcraft correspondent Anna Dietz.

Being a Druid is not for everyone. There is more to being a Druid than simple button mashing. You can choose from three different specializations. Yet, if you want to be a healing Druid, I suggest that you wait until you have reached maximum level, or have the money for dual specialization. The other two specializations are Feral and Moonkin. This guide is to help you level your character and will not go into detail on each specialization. Instead, we will touch on each specialization basics, and their functions for leveling. Remember, how fast you level is always going to be based upon how much time and effort that you put into it.

Read it all here.

good guide, I have 2 80 druids, feral and tree (I wish blizz had come out with dual spec sooner!) they are the best out of all my characters (most fun too).  The only difference is when I leveled my second druid (leveled in feral, then switched to tree later) I did not bother with any grouping at all, no instances, group quests, etc. Other than that, I did pretty much what you said on my second druid :)

Politicians are like diapers, you have to change them frequently, and for the same reason.

lool if you want to be a healer, DO NOT WAIT! till u hit max level, if you wait, you wont know the tricks of the trade and will not be an effective healer... you need to heal dungeons alot as your leveling to learn how to heal.... and this goes for all healing classes.... unless of course you want to be called a noob....

Like it matters anyways, WoW blows now...

Great guide! I've leveled multiple healing\hybrid classes. It's best to level up in a spec that is efficient for leveling. Once you get into the 70's, I'd highly recommend to run dungeons and gather quest rewards for the spec you are wanting to play. Healing\Tanking is different in 1-70 than 71-79\80 (ie, Enhancement Shaman can heal a 5man in the 20's, but don't anyone dare think he\she can heal a dungeon in Northrend).

I leveled as a healer :x I remember never leaving hellfire in outlands because I got group invites the second I put my LFG flag up.

Only thing I'd say is I'd make stormwind/ironforge/undead city etc my home as a druid, BECAUSE you get the special spell to port you to moonglade. No need to make it your home when you can just port there whenever. Having your home on the other continent lets you go back and forth between continents easier than waiting for boats :).

Just make dalaran or shat your home so you can port to all cities instantly while leveling.

As for the guide, it was..meh.  It's definitely useful for the brand new WoW player, but even then some of the tips could be improved.  Going to Stonetalon or Wetlands after level 35? They are level 18-25 zones.  Then you conveniently left a big gap from there to level 56.  This is only a problem because the guide appeared to be a step-by-step careful walkthrough for the complete newbie.  You did this successfully for the first several levels, which are actually the easiest levels for the complete newbie to get through as the starting zones guide new players rather carefully.  It is only after maybe level 30 where a new player might begin to struggle to find new quest zones, and sadly, that is also where your leveling guide thinned out.

Just trying to provide constructive criticism :)

PS. Please read the druid forums to check out good balance and resto specs, gems and enchants.  It's hard to take advice from someone who made very clear errors in customizing the very class she's trying to give advice on.

"In addition, the epic flight form no longer requires a long chain quest to get. "

WRONG. When was this written? I am currently trying to get my epic flight form.  Not only is the quest chain painfully long for the epic flight form, you also have to grind for rep for Lower City (either gathering Arokka Feathers or running Shadow Lab on reg several times) in order to a KEY for the Heroic Shadow Labryinth  for the very last quest in the painfully long chain JUST to get the damned form. Mighty frustrating. On top of that, then you have to find a damned group to run the damned heroic. The guild I am apart of are no help. They said they would help but then when it comes down to it, EEET, nothing. FAIL.

Moo. There. Are you happy now?

Protip: You can train it at 70 even, but you need 300 Riding.

" Class Quest

Prior to the newest expansions release there was a class quest at 70 that was handed out by Loganaar in Moonglade for you to receive your epic flight form. This quest line which starts with ‘Morthis Whisperwing’ and ends with ‘Eternal Vigilance’ granted you Swift Flight Form, but this is now trainable at 71 once you purchase the appropriate riding skill.
